Jarryd Hayne - the Reincarnation of Hugh McElhenny

Cool video. I do see the similarities in running style. #35 (John Henry Johnson?) reminds me of Gore.

Okoye did the same between sets of curls.

Can we wait until the guy takes one freakin snap before we compare him to an all time hall of fame 49er.

That's not a lot to ask right? one snap.

It's not hard to get offended by this thread. If was a relative of Hugh McElhenny I would be.
i think you are being to harsh on the OP

I was well aware of that. This was about Hugh McElhenny and how much Hayne's running style resembles his style. No claims about greatness yet. Let's watch...he has apparently moved above Mike Davis to #3 RB so he's impressing somebody...

Very well, as you were.

Thanks for that video kezar, really cool to see some of the greats from way back when. I can see what you're getting at in the similar running styles. Hopefully Hayne goes on to emulate some of Hugh's exploits and contributes everything he possibly can for the team.
By the end of the season this thread will be about who is better? Hayne or McElhenny, you blokes have no idea what you have on your hands yet and nor should you yet, i'd be exactly the same as you guys if an NFL star came to my club and American fans started comparing him to our greatest player, to be honest id be insulted.

Ive watched Jarryds career on the park and behind the scenes since he was 15, the kid is a once in 100 year RL player, i believe when he left Australia for SF he was the best RL player in the world, who says a player like that wont be one of the best for SF or where ever he goes.

Keep an open mind lads, your dealing with a freak

Keep in mind that the NFL is full of freaks. There are other players with the natural ability that Hayne possesses.

There is a WR for the Lions who lives up to the nickname "Megatron".
Physically jarryd is no standout in the Nfl, I think most of us get that, but the reason the aussies might come across as over confident is more based on what we have seen of hayne's character in pressure cooker situations. In this department he is a rare athlete by any standard in any country. He won't fail, the only thing I'm worried about is if he isn't given the opportunity to be the man, that fear and trepidation from the 9ers sees him coached out of his destiny. Hopefully not, they have been brave enough to take the risk so far, surely they won't get cold feet now.
nice post kezarvet....I became a fan of niners when I was 8 and got jimmy johnson and dave wilcox and charlie krueger

mcelhaney was a bit ahead of their time, but becoming a niners fan I read up about him and you are right he was a great player
