Here's another sack in the game - this time, we don't show heavy pressure, but come with 5 and get one guy unblocked. 13:55 3rd QTR

We're going to run the same coverage as the earlier Tartt sack, it's a fire zone. This time, we're blitzing Bowman and Bethea and dropping Brooks into coverage.

With a short time to cover, the guys do a good job jumping on quick hitting routes.

Again, this blitz is all about execution. We're only bringing 5, so the execution has to be perfect to get a man unblocked. Dial has to rush upfield to the outside shoulder of the Tackle and Bowman has to force that Guard to come inside to open up a lane for Bethea.

They do it perfectly and you see the parting of the red sea once again.

You see how the precise execution opens up the rushing lane.

I don't think this is a bad throw from Kaep. I think he was forced to go to the only place he could which is a bit high to the receiver. As he stepped up, there's a lineman that dropped back to swat at the ball. Kaep has to throw over him. Also at the time that the receiver turned to look for the ball, the strongside linebacker was right in the throwing lane underneath. Had Kaep made a usually easy throw down the middle, and low, so the receiver won't get blown up, it would have been either swatted or intercepted by the LB dropping back.

Kaep had to throw the only way he could to give the receiver a chance with all the s**t going on underneath, which is high. It's not ideal but it was a try.

If you see it from the end.zone looks like Ellington stopped his route, the ball wasn't over the lb, it was to the side. If Bruce kept running it possibly a catch

As much as I like Hayne and I do, the emphasis has to be putting Mike Davis in the game for the #2 RB spot until Bush comes back. The ZBS is working so well that Mike Davis would register similar success to Hyde. If Mike looks good against Pittsburgh and he will, tough decisions will be made in regards to Hayne. I would also like to see White active instead of Patton, we keep giving him chances to shine but the undrafted kid is simply faster and more athletic than Patton. Brooks disappeared on the left side so we need to think about seeing Harold a little more going after the quarterback. I think Eddie is limited in rotation and I wonder what a Williams, Dorsey and Purcell frontline would look like for a few series even though Dial played a solid game. Lastly, I would like to see the center we traded from Baltimore to get up to speed and replace Martin as he was rated the best center in the preseason...............GO NINERS.
Kap still misses easy throws though despite flashes of excellence and progress. like the missed throw to Boldin. needs consistency. and he throws off his back foot still

65% completion.
he won't make every single throw. if you complete 65% of them you're kinda doing your part.
The one thing I didn't like on defense was the three man rush in the fourth quarter. Even a young so-so QB can hit someone when he has all the time in the world. Still didn't do it too much...thank heavens!

Lol Hyde is not a system running back. Ignoring his talent and saying Davis would be just as good is crazy.

what did Steve Logan talk about? completion percentage. im not saying dont buy into it but I'm saying he needs to be more consistent. the miss to Boldin was inexcusable.

he was very consistent that's the point. if he wasn't he wouldn't have completed 65% of his passes.
we didn't take many deep shots this week. this was a controlled passing week because the circumstances dictated it.
bush went down so hyde got more carries along with them not being able to stop it so this coaching staff went with what was working. when we needed big plays when we were behind on down and distance, he made those throws for big gains. to move the chains. those are the ones that count.
the main thing we need to do is stop committing holding penalties. if we stop that, we would move the ball all game long. those are the things that stall drives.
this is not me saying kap is perfect. this is me saying he "missed some throws" is kinda a cop out imo. every qb who played sunday missed some throws. how did he engineer the offense? was he in control in the pocket? go through progressions? make the right decisions more times than not? protect the ball? make big plays when we needed them?

hyde is def not a system running back but the coaches have the sense to put him in the perfect system.

What do you want, kaep to be perfect and lose, or be less then perfect and win ?

he missed an easy throw. it was one that counted on 3rd & goal for a would-be TD too. stop looking into completion percentage so much. if you can't handle any constructive criticism of Kap then stop talking replying to me. i'm one of the biggest Kap fans on this board. Kap is known for being inconsistent with his accuracy. footwork gets sloppy. you could say footwork has DEFINITELY improved. just needs consistency with that.
