Key Matchups
- Kenneth Acker vs #84 WR Antonio Brown
Starting the second game of his career, Acker will find himself 1v1 with one of the league's premier route runners in Antonio Brown. Brown displays elite quickness in and out of his cuts and an array of double moves.
Perfect Post-Out pattern.
1-Break to the Post
2-Get low to have optimal body control
3-Break to the Out
Facing press, Brown has ways to beat that as well.
- NaVarro Bowman vs #72 C Cody Wallace
With Maurkice Pouncey injured, the former 49er 4th round draft pick Cody Wallace takes over at Center. As the team's best blitzer, Bowman will butt heads with Wallace. The frequency is not known, but Bowman will be coming up the A gap.
- Ahmad Brooks/Aaron Lynch vs #34 RB DeAngelo Williams
With Le'Veon Bell suspended, the veteran Williams is now the starter and had a good game in week 1. Most of his runs were off the edge where Brooks and Lynch will need to hold contain on the edges.
- Torrey Smith vs #41 LCB Antwon Blake
Torrey had a quiet game in week 1 with Hyde taking center stage. With the Steelers defensive backfield reeling from injuries and having a poor showing in week 1, the former Jaguar (cut) will be head up with Torrey Smith on many plays. The Steelers know about Torrey all too well from his days as a Raven. It will be interesting to see how much help they roll to Blake's side of the field.
This isn't Blake, but it is a PIT CB.
