Its not that they lost, but how they lost. For me, had this been a close game, maybe losing by a FG or a TD.....good loss. But they got beaten up all day. It was game over by the 2nd quarter.

As per the offseason, the only good players on this team:

Hyde
Bowman
Staley
Bethea

Kaep - depends on so many factors, that it gets near impossible to gauge his effectiveness. By no means is he elite.

Hard to win games consistently with this roster, plus inexperienced coaches with limited game plans. A 7-9 season seems about right.

Nope

Reality set in today. Personally, Im thinking this team doesnt win another game. Blueprint to opponent win very simple when Niners cant rush passer or defend pass. Palmer and Rodgers may both throw over 400 yds 4-5 TDs each. I blame FO for the talent level on that field.

For me, going into the season I knew the D would take a step down. Yes they will have good games but they'll also have games like they did today. Mangini's D is a high risk, high reward type of D you just don't know what you'll get each week. I was hoping the offense could take a step or two up and be the juggernaut that we all want it to be. With Torry signing this offseason, Hyde taking the reigns, Davis fresh, and Kaep working on himself in the offseason (aside from the OL issues), this was the year this offense was supposed to step up with a new OC in place. They showed a glimpse of it in the 2nd half in garbage time but I think they need to attack like that from the get go. Maybe get back to using the pass to set-up the run. Hyde is a beast and everyone knows that and will know that the rest of the season.

Kap moved the ball once Chryst built up the courage to throw. We stuck with running game way too long.

This game is solely on the defense. Ben abused them. Our makeshift secondary was picked apart. Ben as just toying with them. The front seven game him all day to throw and he made them pay,

Yes. Offense started slow and the o-line was terrible, but 99% of this game falls on the defense. That was shockingly bad.

After the 49ers beat Minnesota last week, I didnt see anyone claiming that they were going to win the SB now for sure. The team had a bad game, they happen but some folks are getting positively hysterical.


Like seriously, tamper down the dosage on your estrogen pills.

Now I just need Seattle to lose to balance things out

I actually think we have the talent, but our coaching staff took a step down. I blame this loss on the coaches. NE sold out on stopping the pass and let D Williams get his yard. We were playing the run and didn't cover the top to prevent the deep threat. On the offensive side, Geep called too many run plays in the 1st half. We need to be more balance on offense. Even when Hyde started off well we never attacked downfield until the game was out of reach and we were forced to do so. This was a game plan failure.

Yup. Just look at 2012 defense. Top 3 in the league, but when they lost their pass rush they were one of the worst in the league.

Haven't we started 1-1 the past 5 seasons? We're gonna be alright
