I don't get why we didn't adjust to their passing game? We got beat on the same damn plays over and over and the offense never played like we were behind. We played like ice were just trying to barely keep up pace. Disappointed we lost, but I thought we would at least make it competitive and at some point adjust to their offense, it never happened. Hope we play better next week.
One immediate change - start Celek over VD.

It might hurt VD's feelings, first rd draft pick and all, but time to move on. We have seen enough the last year or so, he's just not into it anymore. A good player, but not producing lately.

The OLine can't be fixed in a short time. If the OC is competent and adaptable, he will design quick throws, short plays, routes, etc. Its hard to change mentality, but needs to be given serious thought.

Defense...Mangini has a wealth of experience (like Fangio), but then does he have the players? does the HC have enough authority to force him to make changes? does he want to or wait until game 9?

Ignoring the fact the Cards are 15-2 in his last 17 starts, including 8 straight wins.

I dunno bout that. If this defense comes out with the same look, what with absolute zero pressure on the QB and dbs with their heads in their asses, I believe Rex Grossman can do what we saw today. It's all about making necessary adjustments. As cliche as it sounds, the team must learn from this loss. The three TE set is a nice touch, but it can't be the motor of this offense when we have Smith and Boldin. I think we stuck with the jumbo packs for way too long today. At the point Vance went down and it was more than apparent Pit was focused on stuffing the run, we shoulda spread that s**t out.

It didn't affect AZ at all

Arizona traveled to Chicago. That is a one hour time difference this time of year, no? Plus Chicago is not Pittsburgh. The Steelers are a good team. We got beat by a good team today. Soundly.

Look at the difference in quality of opponents. Cutler went out early and that was all she wrote for their offense. There's a good reason why teams traveling east on a short week and an early start have historically done pretty badly.

This. Palmer can beat you if you give him time. Hell Drew Stanton beat the 49ers last year and his completion percentage is somewhere around the Mendoza Line.

Yeah im taking this one in stride. I had this as an L and was pretty confident in that. We came out flat on both sides and Im sorry...the diffference in circumstances for the teams prob had a lot to do with it. Im expecting a better effort in AZ, a team we're familiar with. We get a full week and short travel. We got a lot of things we gotta straighten out but its all good. We can still get to 10 wins.
Palmer isnt as good as Big Ben and he gets rattled easier, but he has been playing great for Arizona (when he plays). Basically if our pass rushers play like b***hes next week again, we'll lose. There's talent in secondary, but they need some help.

Am I supposed to be happy about this. Pitt didn't have 3 of its best players.

In my mind, this loss was totally on the defense, whether it be the players or the coaches. Probably both. The offense was far from perfect, but way better then probably anything we saw last year.

Chicago is about half the distance as Pitt there, champ. And then there's that Jimmy Clausen guy.....

No. Not happy with it either. But the comment was that Arizona handled the travel. Just pointing out it is apples and oranges.
