I thought he was done! Dodged a HUGE bullet.

f**king cheap shot too. You don't torpedo into a guy's knee when he's already wrapped up.
subtle late hits on Hyde all day
Remember the cheap shot from Polamalu against VD when he was a rookie? He went straight for his knees and made him miss 3-4 games I think. Absolute cheap

Jeff Deeny just posted a GIF of Reid at the LOS and then backing way the f**k up on that first big Bryant catch (one of many)

Reid looked winded all game, and I noticed him on STs coverage

bad coaching

I don't think they switched positions necessarily. Just trying to show different looks. In the end, it didn't matter. Ben had all day to throw, and the blitz looks put us at a disadvantage.

When we blitzed, it didn't get home. When we bluffed blitz, the safeties had a tough time retreating back into coverage.

Just not a good gameplan, but front 7 deserves most of the blame imo. No pressure on Ben AT ALL.

but why can't we just run the prevent D that has worked against GB 4x in a row?

I know Fangio is gone, but Mangini and Tomsula were on that staff and saw how well that D worked

That would have been the better approach imo, but even if we did, we couldn't get a 4-man rush. When we beat GB 4x in a row, it was the 4 man pass rush + 7 man coverage that gave them fits.

Today people will only factor in the coverage, which was bad, but the front 7 was worse.

hmm, I seem to remember Rodgers having all day but no one to throw it to
The good:

I guess kap looked ok

The bad:
No defense whatsoever
No run game whatsoever
O-line was terrible
Coaching needed to make adjustments earlier in game

The ugly:
Jed and Baalke still run this team

You guys don't get it. We can't get pressure with the front 4 we have. Do you not remember Cully get torched in the SB when we couldn't get to Flacco. If you only rush 4, you have to get to the QB or any DB will get toasted.

Finally--someone responded with my rant all game long. Ben (and Carson next week) will kill you if you do not get to them. Your dbs cannot cover receivers the quality of Antonio Brown for that long. Not going to happen. They are facing a similar team next week and hopefully they figure it out--that's about all I am hoping for. I think our offense, outside of some s**tty line play from Boone mostly (sorry you pears haters) was good enough to compete IF the defense shows up.

Watch again. Especially the Wild Card game @ Lambeau. We pwned their offensive line. Rodgers always makes plays and gets the ball out quick, but we made life difficult each and every game with consistent 4 man rush and 7 in coverage.

The strength of those defenses was always the front 7, not the secondary.

I said before Pears got the nod, if he didn't do well, then put in Brown. Might as well give him a chance. Well, sometime before halftime, Pears had three motion penalties(usually that means the defender is afraid his man is faster than he is)...and 1 something else(forgot what it was). Ok, let's see what Brown can do. He at least has to be harder to get around than Pears, because he is so huge. If he just fell down he would have been more of an impediment to the rush than Pears. So I still say, give brown a shot. What's he gonna do, look worse?

I think Brown will get in there at some point. I don't see Martin/Devey/Pears lasting the season. Changes are coming if they don't rebound from this.

I thought you were on the Front Office Protection Detail?
Seems like we usually get shredded by a real good passing attack.

What if we had hired an OC as the HC? Looks like we'll never know.

We've never been burned deep like that before. At least not recently. That's what happens when you play aggressive but sloppy.

Well, obviously there will be changes when Kilgore gets back in Week 7. Until then, though, I think we need to see how they play in Arizona next week at the very least.

If they had given the job to Fangio, I think we could have retained a majority of the defense. Yes, including some of the retirees.

But I hear the post-game group hugs are amazing now according to Jed's post-game tweet.

Of course, it's just one game, but the o-line was a concern heading into the year. Today gave us our first sample of what happens when we play a disruptive, attacking style front 7. They failed the first test. AZ also plays a very disruptive style similar to the Steelers. Let's hope the o-line rebounds.
