I highly doubt there will be a repeat of today in Arizona next week. There were a lot of breakdowns in schemes in the secondary - probably due to lack of practice time. The offense was able to move the ball except for the red zone...

Which is still an issue

Yeah. The o should be good for 3 to 4 TDs. Let's see if they can take more shots from beyond the 20.

The ultra quiet SP's from last week now have renewed fuel I see.

May want to check around the NFL for perspective.

Fangio is doing stellar without us.

Jekyll-n-Hyde Week 2. No excuses. That's just football.

Yup. No one knows anything about the NFL right now. All kinds of crazy results. As for the 49ers, I expect lots of up and down and these young guys learn how to play.

On another note, I can't believe people are asking for Vic Fangio. Really? Buddy Ryan couldn't save this defense if you can't generate any pass rush.

I think the coaches are going to learn a ton from this game. More than the players. Even Bowman looked like crap this game. That's all you need to know that they were tired and not in sync. Given the circumstances, it's understandable.

The Ugly- Darius Heyward-Bey torched us
Its worth pointing out that the Steelers had 9 days to prepare for us....the Niners had 5 days and this was after a hard hitting game vs the Vikings if you paid attention...

IIRC the commentators were saying how their OC coached with Mangini and knew him well?

I swear it seemed like no matter where we brought pressure they had the PERFECT quick screen or outlet set up to beat it.

Anyone else notice that?
Today was an ugly day across the league. If we had to lose one game this is it.
Its just two weeks into the season, everyone should be fresh bodied and have fresh knowledge of their pre season training, the difference in turnaround times is a greater impact late season, should not be that big an impact in week 2!. I think you are being too kind.

I also think key players started to read the hyberbole, AKA HYDE and KAPA.

Never seen some many MR fumbles on the same team. There was no respect of the PILL and the team went backwards as a result.

I heard that but it was also about 20 years ago and both were probably low level assistants. Wouldn't put too much behind that

I agree. They didn't look very prepared at all, they looked very slow. Let's see what happens in a week. Does make me a little uneasy.

You may be right but it sure seemed like they dialed up the perfect plays. Always one step ahead of us. Creepy really. Maybe with the extra time they were able to focus on his tendencies and then confirm them with the Vikings game.
Anybody have any thoughts on red zone offense? Seems just as sh*TTy as with roman. Just looking at the drive charts it looks filthy incredible.
Stats on back up RB in game 2 don't lie. Davis had multiple more attempts for very small yardage

In Game 3 we need to Give Hayne the Pill. over Davis at RB. Obviously still as back up to Hyde, if healthy he is still the best RB we have by a mile.

What I don't understand though is if Hyde at RB was not working out in game 2 (other then injury he also dropped the Pill lots), why do the coaches think Davis (with the same style as an RB) would do any better ?

Would you not think, that a change of RB runner "style" may work better than just swapping like for like in the RB position.

In baseball, they change a pitcher if he is getting smacked out of the ground, but they don't swap him for another pitcher with the same "style"
i am actually really encouraged. like really encouraged.
they should refocus.
defense got thrashed but not for lack of trying. and there were far too many times where it was garbage time and our offense just quit. was not the case today kap fought hard until the very end and i love it. loved that we didn't punt. love that we didn't kick a field goal and concede. loved that we tried when there was no reason to.

i think it was closed. the entire offense was closed in the 1st half. in the 2nd half it opened up.
