The running game is also a team offensive concept. What I saw out there and I'm wondering if anyone else notice particularly during runs, is people want sustaining their blocks. They weren't firing off the line of scrimmage and engaging there man and blocking them with intensity. I saw way too many Steelers just running around their guy, shutting the block and making a beeline to the runner. This was not the case against Minnesota. Unless hide can get blocking from everyone involved in the run Game, there's no way you're going to sustain a run game against the better teams in the NFL. Maybe this was due to fatigue? Not sure. But I know one thing. If they're going to beat the Cardinals everyone must sustain their blocks.

I saw the same thing. Everyone was a step slow today, just getting beat to the punch. Not sure if that was due to the short week and long travel, or Pittsburgh looking to come out firing in their home opener and get a much needed win. Probably a little bit of both. Steelers played a nasty, physical, fast game. They kicked it up a gear, and we couldn't match it.

No doubt this 49er team was capable of a better effort. They didn't play with the same intensity level as last week. Guys were not firing off the ball and looking to make a play. No excuses. Just have to own it and do better next week.
Martin is aweful at center. He was the best center in college like chilo Rachal was one of the best guards in college. Sometimes you got to take a guy out. I would try the guy from Baltimore and maybe put m Martin at rg. That would help out things I believe
The Good

Jarryd Hayne 1.5 average > Last Seasons leading rusher Demarco Murray 0.2 average

HOF confirmed f**kers
Just watched condensed replay, man we dropped the ball way to many times. We showed no respect for the pill at all!

Olines always fold when the defense brings the pressure. Lol that's football. Kap needs to punish the defense when they bring the pressure

There isnt a qb in this league that could do any better behind this offensive line. The entire right side sucks. Good offensive lines can compensate when they face blitz packages. This one didnt today.

For a Center, getting the snap count wrong is UGLY. Staley, Boone, Boldin are still waiting for the second count.

Staley says it's on 2.

Boone says it's on 2.

There are mental mistakes that lead to blown blocking assignments, then there are brain farts that are embarrassing. He's the Center, the snap count needs to be nailed down. Any uncertainty, just ask.

Pears didnt get a hand on anyone. Dude could have chosen two guys and he tried to get them both and ended up with none. Im curious to see how he looked the rest of the game. Dude looks lost in the sauce.

The entire team looked jet lagged or something, they were very flat with little intensity or energy.

Pears talent level has been plain-as-day visible since he got here, so it's no surprise.
The weird thing is 49er coaches think hes good.
no, the weird thing is that it says a lot about the competition.

Stats on back up RB in game 2 don't lie. Davis had multiple more attempts for very small yardage

In Game 3 we need to Give Hayne the Pill. over Davis at RB. Obviously still as back up to Hyde, if healthy he is still the best RB we have by a mile.

What I don't understand though is if Hyde at RB was not working out in game 2 (other then injury he also dropped the Pill lots), why do the coaches think Davis (with the same style as an RB) would do any better ?

Would you not think, that a change of RB runner "style" may work better than just swapping like for like in the RB position.

In baseball, they change a pitcher if he is getting smacked out of the ground, but they don't swap him for another pitcher with the same "style"
and who would you suggest? Bush is out, Hayne is overrated. anyone else?

u dont put a Player with a different style into a formation, you look for a player with a style that fits the plan perfectly.

But Palmer is going to be playing a vulnerable D next week . We need to accept that the niner D will be giving up plays like they did against PITT. That is where the offense is supposed to balance that out but that did not happen. Every year we talk about this to.

What were we?
Wow being at that game yesterday and seeing the safeties come down when you have one of the best routes runners and wr in the league leaves me baffled. Plus not getting to Ben. One play Ben had at least six secs in the pocket. Kap also has to realize that even though a wr has a defender on him you can still throw the ball and give your wr a chance. I really hope they gameplan well for Arizona and not get so run heavy cause we will be down by 20 again and by time Kap shakes the rust off it will be fourth qrt.

We went 1-2 for two straight seasons and even had the khaki god coaching this team and looking bad while losing these, so I am not worried that the defense can adjust
