Its hard to predict if the will let their foots off the gas pedal.

I wonder if the guys are happier getting molly whooped and not practicing as hard.

I doubt it. I understood what buzz wrote more than this lol
Btw I see think it will be something like 35-17 packers.
Neither starting qb will play in the fourth quarter. Rodgers because of the huge lead and kaep will be benched after 3 picks. 45-10
Hell, Green Day could outscore us.
A few things;

The first quarter of the season can be wildly unpredictable. It is every year and always has been. We came out week one and dominated the Cowboys last season and were up and down the rest of the season but nothing embarrassing as we have seen these past three weeks.

On defense, I think we have a better unit than we had last year with Bow, Dorsey, and Brock being back healthy. Now keep in mind that we have added some new pieces (Armstead, Tart, etc.) and we have to let these guys who didn't play last season get the rust off. Add in the fact that we looked totally lost on defense these past two weeks and didn't seem all that comfy week one, I think we can only go up from here.

One thing I think the Steelers and Cards have that Green Bay does not is a legit deep threat. Jones and Cobb are more run after the catch guys and I think our corners match up better with Green Bay speed and skill wise more so than Pitt or AZ. Hopefully Mangini cuts out all the cute stuff let's our guys man up on the outside and bring 4+1 on the pass rush and rush 3-4 and drop 7-8 just too keep Rodgers honest. There is no way we can hold them under three touchdowns, but 27-28 points is possible.

Of course this all hinges on the fact that the oline HAS to play better. If we can get the run game going with Kap and Hyde, we can make Rodgers wait it out on the sideline and minimize the amount of scoring we have to do. Green Bay's defense is not impressive to me, and they don't have a lot of speed. Kap has historically torched Dom Capers and if we can get that type of game out of him Sunday the sky is the limit.

I know it's hard to believe and trust me... I don't have much faith right now. I actually have Rodgers, Cobb, and Jones stacked in a few of my FanDuel line ups. lol. I figure if I have to watch my team get l gutted then why not make a few greenbacks off it? On the flip side I have Hyde in a few line ups, as I could easily seeing him go off on the Packers. He hasn't had many carries since week one so he should be fresh. It's an afternoon home game so the guys should be well rested and ready to rock for this game. If we win and Seattle loses we are tied for second in the division despite being blown out the past two weeks. A guy can dream right? lol
Each squad will amass 450+ yards of offense.
Rodgers will put GB ahead just inside 2 min left 34-33.
The Niners last drive will stall due to a rare holding penalty on Marcus Martin, immediately followed by an uncharacteristic personal foul call on Boldin, which will knock them out of FG range. But in one of Coach JT's first "what the hell have I got to loose" decisions of the year, he sends Pinion out to attempt a 66 yard FG, and it sails thru for the win 36-34 Niners!!!

The homer in me would like to believe that we allow less than 50 points, but realistically, probably 70-21, Packers.
Best case scenario we at least get our offense back on track. Packers defense is most vulnerable on the ground. Need to get the run game going and open up opportunities in the passing game.

Defensively, I just don't see how we slow down Rodgers and their offense. Unless we chew up clock by sustaining drives, or get lucky and force some turnovers, GB will put up yet another 40 burger on us easily. The film of the 49ers defense is just atrocious, they're not doing anything right. No pass rush, players out of position, terrible playcalling by Mangini, and horrific down field coverage.

42-20 Packers
