I just think kap is caught it the middle of being a QB and a runner and he's slow to everything. It's a terrible spot to be in....if he wants an NFL career he has to find a way through this.

he's a literal shell of his former 2012 self. he doesn't trust ANYTHING anymore...

So, Troy Aikman mentioned this on the broadcast, but wanted to highlight it. This is the INT....avert thine eyes if you're squeamish....8:30 4th qtr.

It's 3rd and 16 - which isn't easy, by any means...but it was there to be had!!!!! We're going to run a definite "sucker" concept on the bottom with Bush and Smith.

GB moves into a cover 3 zone. note the key defender on the "sucker" concept.

McD's route and Bush's route open up the "sucker" DIG route. Bear in mind, the 48 is the first down.

Kaep is pressured, but he just has to sidestep and sling it to TSmith. With the FS's attention that way, it also starts to create a 2v1 on the other side...

Kaep has a clean enough area to throw - but, he doesn't pull the trigger, and you see TSmith open, right at the 1st down...

Torrey is wide open in the middle of the field. On top of that, as CK starts his windup, you see how the corner abandoned Patton and he's standing there with his arms in the air...like, "DUUUUUUDE!!"

As he slings the ball, you see he had both TSmith and patton wide open....

Troy Aikman said on the broadcast, "I'm not sure why Kaepernick threw that ball, he had Torrey Smith wide open in the middle of the field".

Absolutely brutal. Looking at defenderDX's gif, he had all day too.

Edit: It looks like Boldin was waving for it, but Kap didn't lead him enough to the outside and threw it too late. Meanwhile, easier completions are available. Playing WR on this team must be so frustrating.

The more I see of Chryst's playbook and playcalling the more I like. He did EXACTLY what we wanted him to do - call short passes to establish a rhythm and back of the defenders from the box. Yet Kap isn't executing it well enough. Can't even blame the OL that much this game. Yes, they've played bad this season, but there were multiple plays to be made, sitting right there for the taking.

I just gotta think Gabbert would make these short passes like he did in the pre-season. Making these plays has little to do with high ceiling talent and more to do with timing, consistency, and vision - three areas that Kap is currently lacking in.
Feel lightheaded looking at these offensive executions

The thing here is even Boldin is wide open if Kaep throws the ball on time
But he double clutches and gives the safety time to get back in to the play!
Which is maddening!

All he has to do is loft it over that LB and it's 7 for us.

Looks as though we left at least 2 TD's on the field, if not 3. Quinton Patton wide open down the sideline.

THis is so gross.

Same. I dont even know what to say...the amt of frustartion I have with Kap is excrutiating.
Not sure where the blame goes on this play, if it's Pears, McDonald or Kaep - you can chime in on what you think... This is one of the most crucial plays of the game. 4th down in the RZ, less than 5 minutes go.

Both Pears and Boone stand up, right before this, and turn to say something or point something out to Kaepernick. After that, he moves McD to the othere side of the line.

One of 3 things happened here. Either McD didn't realize the call was for him to stay in to block now that he was moved over in the formation, or Kaep never made the, "stay in to block" call for him, or Pears was wrong and only thought McD was staying in to block.

Because McD releases straight up the field, Pears comes down on 76 and Peppers is freely released.

From here, I have to think it was McD, cause Pears helps and then moves to a blitzing Matthews - I'd only assume that's why they'd move him over, so that they'd have the blocking power to pick up Matthews(who blitzed a lot in this game). But, that left peppers untouched.

Huge 4th down sack....I guess, unless we're in the meeting room, we won't know who it was on. But someone effed up, bigtime!

This is the closest thing I've seen, to date this season, the 49ers run a pattern match coverage. I am still unsure, but based on two players - Ward and Reid - I think they are pattern matching.

I didn't draw the routes because it would get messy. Wanted to highlight the defensive players.
Right side: Inverted Smash (#2 + #3) + drag route from the #1 + Backside Seam route.

As #1 drags across the middle. Because #1 doesn't go vertical, Brock is relieved of #1 and now reads #2. #2 releases vertical.
After a slight re-direct of #2, Ward sees #3 release to his side of the field.
Rodgers' first read is #3 in the flat. With Ward nearby, Rodger's doesn't pull the trigger.

Rodgers' now looks to #2 going vertical. He is bracketed by Bethea and Brock. Not shown, Bow points to #1 dragging across the field. He's passing off coverage to the defender on the other side of the field - Reid.

Routes matches (blue lines). Bow sees Rodger's scramble left and makes a beeline to pressure Rodgers.

Nice coverage by 7 to buy time for the 4 man rush. I can't be sure this is pattern matching. It could very well be cover3, but what Ward and Reid do makes me suspect it's pattern matching. Thrown incomplete with an inaccurate throw. Punt.

The thing though, he's got the open receivers and throws the deep post to our slowest receiver - the safety doesn't even affect the play, really. It's the corner who catches up to Boldin and makes the INT
Also - I think Kap's play is a big part of Torrey saying "Tomsula doesn't deserve this". The WRs on this team are getting open. They see the schemes working. They know the coaches are calling plays that would work if the QB would execute the plays properly.

Can you post a screenshot of the rest of the field during the play (not from behind the goal posts)? Kap is looking to his right as if he expects someone over there (McDonald or someone off screen) to be the target.
