What to do with Jarryd Hayne?

That's probably fair enough too.

Just let him keep returning punts the rest of the season. I don't see what the problem is.
Bump. Need some more voters please.
Don't know why we need a poll, Grant Cohn has already stated the answer on 20-Oct

The Niners can't trust this guy in real games. Hayne needs to keep learning before San Francisco puts him back on the field.

Oh wait, he changed his mind 2 days later after the Seahawks game lol

Here's what wasn't smart: deactivating running back Jarryd Hayne. He could have helped Hyde carry the load. Instead, Reggie Bush was the backup, and he's no load-carrier—he ran the ball only four times. Now that the 49ers' season is over, there's no reason to keep playing Hyde and his injured foot. Let him heal. Hayne should be the starting running back until Hyde is healthy.

Get Hayne out there. Even Roger Craig agrees.

"If they still have aspirations to go to the play-offs, they'll need to win every game from here or close to it. So, with the offense not firing, why not give someone like Jarryd a chance? And if the Niners do find themselves out of contention, what have they got to lose by playing him?

Jarryd will get better the more reps he receives. Give those to him now and watch how much he improves next season.

Jarryd showed in the pre-season what he could do when given a chance. I have no doubt he can do the same in the regular season if the coaching staff show a little faith in him."

can he kick one of those awesome rugby punts, the ones that go all sideways and bounce erratically?
Play him, see what we have, with an eye towards next season. Also, run a play where he kicks the ball to himself, cause thats f**king rad!
We not gonna make the playoffs so just play Mike Davis and Jarryd Hayne for the rest of the season and bench Reggie Bush,Bush won't be on this team next season but the other 2 guys may be so that's why they should play.

Torpedo as we like to call it. Yes. But he can kick it a fair way with a normal rugby punt end over end. I'd say 60+ yards with 5 sec hang time.

Keep him and see how he progresses.

great, I know he has untapped talent that this coaching staff is not using.
Play him
Hayne absolutely needs more game time and more ball in his hands. apart from the first one his fumbles are forgivable. We are not dealing with a rookie but a proven superstar from a related sport. He is a big game player, used to pressure and being targeted. The more Hayne has the ball in his hands the more points we will score! Give him more ball at RB.

Hayne is the rookiest rookie in the whole team
