What to do with Jarryd Hayne?

Hayne Vs Davis...who has more to offer?

Hayne

Mike Davis = (very) poor man's Hyde, and we already have Hyde

He is under contract and needs practice, keep him inactive the rest of the season, hope he progresses during practice and let him compete for a roster spot in the offseason.

Pretty much. He's not a good enough RB to take an active roster spot.

Cut Hayne. Rams will sign him for insider info on the playbook.

I doubt any team needs it at the moment.

Should be easy to memorize I heard its 2 pages long

ha ha . Hayne's version could well be. In his previous sport, I think their playbook was even more concise... just give it to Jarryd.

Do they Ravens play us again? They only have the defensive playbook.

Damn All Blacks... they're practically Rugby playing robots. I swear they grow them in a vat back in New Zealand. Almost unstoppable but I've seen the goalposts show more flair on the field.

At this stage, its 2 hard to say, he has looked dangerous at times at PR and from what i have seen, looks like our most dangerous option, as far as running back goes from the plays he has actually touched the ball looks ok, hard to tell with the few he has had, i think he is more in the bush mould and should be used on some screen plays, i just dont think we are using his natural ball running talents right, he can bash it up the middle but i don't really think thats his game unless hyde goes down, but seriously the have to get hydes foot right, there going to shorten his carrier playing him injured, thats just dumb! i feel sorry for the kid as he has a bright future!

dude has vision....doesn't matter if preseason... give him some blocking and he'll do the rest.

not every RB hits a big run each time they get the ball. At least with him, you know he will fall forward.

get his Damn Auss on the damn field!!!

All those dudes he juked don't even play in the NFL anymore.

Wouldn't it make sense, now that Carlos has a stress fracture, to give Jarryd the next 2 games before the bye to play at RB. Give him heaps of reps and really get him involved. The season is gone and it would allow Carlos to rest up and get well.

With Carlos & Reggie banged up, I really doubt our savior & leaders Trent Yorke would release him. We still playing for playoffs after all

Your wrong but even if you weren't its not the point. He has already done it several occasions in the real season. Preseason is preseason but it shows the potential of someone. The only way to know is to now give him the time in the actual games. Not 1 or 2 touches a game but a proper game load.

Also you are completely incorrect - In the dallas game it was against the starting ST team - That juke in the gif is against #23 - A starting CB for them and a 4year vet. It was simply great play, great vision and it must be said good blocking.

The exact same as college players get drafted, its only college where the standard is even worse than NFL preseason, but players are scouted on potential. Mike davis has done nothing, did nothing in preseason either, but was great in college so he will get a chance too.

Hayne's problem is not talent, vision, strength or even speed its simply inexperience and the nuances of the game

If they want to have hyde as a franchise RB for the next several years they need to protect him. Bush is gone next year Imo.

Hayne is certainly not ready to start - but a RB by committee spreading the load is a good idea

If Bruce Miller got a better shot on Brandon Meriweather there'd be one for the regular season TD highlight reel.

You realize he's good for nothing and release him.
