Lockett drove into Brock's inside hip then at around the 22 yard line breaks to the inside to get that separation. Very nice throw.

Just gotta give the gnome and Lockett credit....nice throw and good concentration for Lockett catching the ball after its was tipped a bit.

Sack #3
Slide right. Can't tell the coverage. There's only so many times you can call this play against a good defense.

Sacked for -4
Win or lose, I find these threads to br fascinating and educational. Thanks, Johnny and contributors.

I wonder if we package this play at all. From the gif it looks like the back had a nice lane.

Sack #4
:43 seconds left in the half. 1st & 10

Kap is either looking at Bush or VD. Pears does a horrible job extending his arms and gets bull rushed.

Throw it over the middle or something. idk. Sacked for -14.

Palette cleanser

The RT reaches out to initiate contact with Lynch. Lynch chops down the RT's arms and steps around him.

Edit: Oops! Looking at the wrong guy That's Wilhoit. s**t that's impressive by #57

Is Kap afraid of getting hit after he releases the ball? I rarely see him on his ass after a throw. He's either untouched or sacked. Only example I've seen of him getting hit is the third play of the game when the swing pass is incomplete.
I thought Kaep got hit late in one of the play last game but the ref didn't throw the flag. Such is life. I don't think he's afraid of hit as much as wanting to buy more time looking down field. Struggling to put it all together right now.

No worries Kap I'll just block with my head

I didn't count, but I think that's correct. That he wasn't under center as much as the previous 2 weeks. He was still under center more than weeks 1-4 though because in those weeks he was in the shotgun/pistol like 80% of the time (estimate). My hypothesis why Kap was in shotgun more than previous weeks is because of Dick. The 49ers stayed away from targeting Dick for the majority of the game. One of the benefits of shotgun is being able to look to the left easier compared to when under center since it's harder to torque the neck around to look left while dropping back (Kap being right handed). So they put him in shotgun so that he can quickly see what's on the left side of the field. Dick ended up shadowing Torrey the entire game.
any news on Hodges?
