After the defense forces a Rams 3 & out. This is the next drive.

After a -2 yard run by Gaskins, the 49ers execute a nice middle screen pass that Davis took for 11 yards. Very clean looking screen pass with 2 OL out in front blocking and everything.

Another manageable 3rd down. RB circle route versus Cover1 blitz. Same deal as the play above. Bush's circle route designed to attack the middle of the field, which is open in Cover 1 blitz.

At this point, it should be clear to Kap that the middle of the field (underneath level) is wide open. Does Kap understand that there is a route about to go to the middle of the field? If so, he needs to start his throwing motion now as Bush digs his heel in the grass to break towards the middle.

This is a split second later and Kap still has not started his throwing motion. Now the rush is on him and he will eventually make an off balance throw that sails over Bush's head.

There was an illegal formation penalty on the offense on this play so it would not have counted anyway, but when looking at Kap's execution on this play, it is a fail. Have some anticipation. Lob it to the open area and put the responsibility on Bush to get there. Punt.

2011 alex smith would of had a great time if he ever saw v.davis right in front of his eyes in man coverage. Gregg williams knows something about that

Damn it. Wrong comment reply

So the ILB should fill in
It does look like Bowman over commit, which in turn gift wrapped Gurly a big run.
I'm guessing Tartt was crashing into the hole in between the tackle and guard to meet Gurly straight on. If Bowman doesn't over commit, and keeps his right arm free, he could of forced Gurly to run in between the guard and tackle and Tartt would of been in position.
But s**t happens

Mostly this!

I think it's 100% Baalke's Fault

J/k....I just can't seem to keep myself out of the baalke threads today.

Hey...the way things are going it could be a blanket statement..."If you live in the Bay Area...it's your fault too!"

Edit: shoot...I don't live in the Bay Area...guess I'm safe!

I'm not gonna derail, but I think our biggest single problem is the lack of true football guys in the building. Jed needs another real football guy along with Trent when he's making decisions. If not, we are gonna continue to see film like this.

Been saying that since they made Nolan HC and GM...just a silly decision. You need guys who understand the game from every angle to help the HC. It's a brutal sport on HCs...wears them out and shortens their lives. Knowing how much stress there is and how many decisions have to be made daly, why on earth limit the help you give them? Grrrr....

I like it better than our current one.....for the record, I was a vocal supporter of a 1994 inspired alt uniform. All-in-all I guess I'm glad they didn't go that route, because I wouldn't want to see this team wearing those unis.

`My only complaint with the black uniforms they are using this year is the difficulty reading numbers. I actually like them. My hope is always to go traditional...plain red and white simple, no bells and whistles.
just watched the Tevon Austin screen TD again, and poor Jimmy Ward got destroyed.

Lineman was looking a different direction and turned around at the last second and right infront of him was poor little jimmy....and physics took over.
