Baalke would be smart to discuss offense with him. Baalke has sucked drafting offense outside of Carlos Hyde.

Agree! They likely discussed this before Kelly was hired. Why not keep the roster intact, add FAs and draftees, then let them fight for spots? When they have to make cuts the best guys stay. In other words...normal.

I guess they could let all their free agents go, but I doubt it. So instead of who they discard I'd rather list who they will likely resign: In order of value

  1. Anquan Boldin--leadership (keep T Smith happy)
  2. Ian Williams--best inside DL
  3. Garrett Celek--best TE
  4. Phil Dawson--still good
  5. Alex Boone--doubt he fits Kelly's system but he is a good OL
  6. Shaun Draughn--good receiver out of the backfield
  7. Michael Wilhoite--limited and I'm not sure he will fit Kelly's team (attitude or skill level)
  8. Ray-Ray Armstrong--good young pick up last year, ST?
  9. Reggie Bush--injury prone but could help in Kelly's system
  10. Tony Jerod-Eddie--jack of all trades, one of the best DL at dropping...never expect him to stick but he has
  11. Kendall Gaskins--too much depth, PS?
  12. Jordan Devey--perhaps he would be perfect for Kelly's system but ouch! Would be difficult pill to swallow

Different approach like it.

Disagree with some of the keepers though

Boone is as good as gone.
Wilhoite is a FA I believe I think this will be upgraded
TJE is God awful and his snaps need to go to someone else. I have no idea why he's on the team still.
Devey shouldn't even be talked about lol he was brought here for ZBS and was a joke.
Boldin I love but he's gonna want $6+ and I don't think he's worth that anymore. I could see him in NE

Anthony Davis. He should stay gone. Very replaceable. The dude think this team still needs him badly. lol

Apparently he wasn't very replaceable

Yeah. We could've used him this season. Hope comes back for us better than ever.

My mistake! I meant the order of value, but no idea who they keep! I'll try to guess...

All good!
Devey, Pears, Martin, Dorsey and probably Brooks although I'm not certain about Brooks are likely goners for those under contract.

Ok, flipping the topic of this thread around:

I wonder if Chip will bring LMJ back. LMJ was a superstar under Kelly at Oregon, and Chip has an affinity towards Oregon players.

Another ex-Duck I'd like to see get a training camp invite is Jeff Maehl. This guy could be a wicked slot reciever like Julian Edleman. He's tough as nails at catching in traffic, has good hands, and posted one of the best shuttle run times in combine history.

I'd be open to this. He knows the philosophy and office. Plus, it wouldn't cost us anything. League min for LMJ?

I totally disagree with Vance being gone. He could have a very big season in Kelly's offense.

Maybe is he learns how to catch the ball this offseason

I don't doubt that he can do well in Kelly's system, but I don't think he's that special of an individual. I think any of our TEs could do well.

Outside of VMac's first game back after suffering a concussion he played well after Gabbert took over

He caught a few TDs. Big deal. He's not someone that defenses worry about.
