Which side of the ball do you think we address more in the draft?

yes but that kicker Aguoyo declared so he'll probably be Baalke second round pick....

I think there aren't nearly enough football fans who are educated enough to realize drafting a QB in the 5th or 6th round is a complete waste of a pick.

Brady, Matt Hasselbeck, Bulger, and Romo would disagree with you. And there are plenty others as well during the 60s-80s. Thanks for your input though.
If we get rid of Mr Slow "Boldin:" Mo and his great hands, we actually have a bunch of WRs that reminds me of the bunch from the Rams' Greatest Show on Turf..

All we need really is to find 2 solid OL from free agency and a QB that can deliver.. with Chip's "Fun n Run" offense, we may just put up 35 pts per game..

If this is true then they may sign offensvie free agents and go heavy D in the draft. I could see something like Buckner, Spence, Matakevich in rounds 1-3. Spence would be a risk but his upside might be an unavoidable lure.

But if we're wrong and defensive guys are willing to sign here, I would love to see Treadwell, Spriggs and Drango.

A good thing the draft is after the initial FA period.
Is there an Aldon like talent at 7?

I'm ok with pass rushing OLB being the first pick of the draft, and taking it from there.

Aldon wasn't even considered the top pass rusher that year so you can't answer that question.

That draft was crazy at the top. Von Miller,jj watt, aldon, cam Newton, julio jones, patrick peterson.

Just a great class at the top. This class isn't considered the best but it seems to be deep at DL.

Won't be able to judge it for a couple years though so that May all be turned on it's head.

It's super rare to get a decent qb late it's like a lotery. Takeing one early you have an ok chance of them being a decent quarterback.

Didn't say it wasn't. Steve said that it's a "complete waste of a pick". My knowledge of the english language led me to conclude that Steve was saying that there's no chance you can get a good QB that late.

It's just my hope that if we do draft a qb it's in the early rounds where he stands a decent statistical chance of actually doing something.
Defense, Defense, Defense, and more Defense.

Chip can scheme offense. Free agents on offense might not be too hard to sign because they'll have opportunites to put up big numbers.

D? You need athletes. Given how much you they'll be on the field, they'll need good starters and very good backups for a rotation.

I want Myles Jack to pair with Bowman to give us that 1-2 punch we had with Willis and Bowman.

The poll says to draft defense but the way I see it is we have some decent young talent but it is a young group and we need more veterans.

We brought in an offensive minded HC with a different scheme than we ran in the past. I think we need to address offense.
WR group outside of Torrey Smith is completely bare- Ellington, Patton, Simpson are all non factors and I dont think we resign 34 year old Boldin

TE group has been reduced to Bell and McDonald- Bell I get is a project but neither of these guys right now will scare a defense like Vernon Davis they don't even scare them like Eric Johnson did.

RB outside of Hyde who is coming off foot surgery who is there. Bush is done. Hayne could surprise year 2 , and Mike Davis 1.7 ypc this is not a group I am comfortable with going into a season.

OL the tackle spot if Davis comes back should be better with Staley, Davis (?), & Brown. Boone will leave town so the guard position needs work and the center spot even when Kilgore came back wasn't very good.

And I haven't even mentioned QB. I hope Kelly can revive Kap's career and Kelly's system will play to his strengths but the guy has not gotten any better as a passer so I cant count on him making a huge turnaround. Gabbert isnt the worst backup you could have but seems to have locker room support to cause a QB controversy if Kap can't turn it around. Do you really want to go into another season where the option that gives you the best chance to win is having Kap turning around his career.

Recap on offense I can only pencil in 3 guys I feel comfortable getting significant playing time in Staley, Hyde, & T. Smith (3 total)
On defense I am ok with tagging Williams and having him, Armstead, Ward, Tarrt, Lynch, Bethea, Bowman, Reid getting significant snaps and I am on the fence with Brock- (8.5 total)
Mostly offense because chip will out score everyone.
