If there is one thing that has NFL teams nervous about Blaine Gabbert, it's the offensive scheme he played in while at Missouri. Gabbert spent the majority of his college career in the shotgun with multiple wide receivers lined up on both sides of him. He almost played in a system that was comparable to what Mike Leach ran at Texas Tech where they would spread you out with that same sort of shotgun look.

This was from a pre-draft right up of Gabbert. Doesn't sound much different from what Chip wants to do in his offense with 5 out on routes. Gabbert doesn't have any major problem transitioning into a pocket passer. Most of the NFL offense doing less of that anyways. I think Gabbbert is a perfect fit for ALL of what Chip likes to do in his offense in regard to passing and running with his qb. Gabbert with a 4.62 speed is plenty.

Im sorry but that made me lol.

why is that funny?

Becauase nobody is nervous about blaine f**king gabbert lol.

that was a pre-draft writeup, they were talking about being nervous drafting him

I know but the post is suggesting gabbert is now in a system that could make other teama nervous.

Not a chance.

Your reading comprehension has failed in your want to ridicule

One paragraph says gabbert's system in college could make NFL nervous.

Next paragraph you explain how kelly's offense is like his in college.

What more is there to comprehend?

Articulate your point better.

I thought it was pretty clear when, the first thing I said was, this was a pre-draft writeup. Should have written my post to the lowest common denominator of reading comprehension. My bad..

Elway is as delusional as Baalke and York was last season thinking that their team was so good that it didn't matter who the coach was. Elway thinks that his defense is so elite that it doesn't matter what the offense does or doesn't do.

So you are saying they can't retain what they read in the first paragraph in italic long enough, and more importantly going apes**t on Gabbert, to get to the first sentence of my paragraph, explaining the previous paragraph.

OK, lessen noted

Hahahahaha, scrambling to try and cover the reading comprehension failure. Just admit you were too ready to criticize to read the whole post...you know that's what happened.

On topic, I heard both defenses dominated last practice. I hope the game isn't too ugly to be entertaining.

Yep and his starting QB is Mark Sanchez

You're making this more complicated than it needs to be made. Kap was healthy at the start of camp but due to the inactivity that proceeded camp, he got arm fatigue after throwing for a few days. He has been shut down for a small amount of time to make sure that his arm is right. He has started to throw the ball and will be back to practicing next week. No need to add drama to a pretty mundane arm condition.

Occam's Razor, folks. Often times the correct explanation is the simplest one.

I hadn't done squats in almost a year and decided to do three sets of them on Tuesday. Yesterday I was sore and today I'm walking with an obvious limp because my quads and ass are killing me. I won't be able to do squats again until next week.

That's the way the human body works, especially after an injury where the muscles surrounding the healing area have atrophied due to non-use.

Due to his surgeries, Kap couldn't do any type of working out over the summer like he used to do. On top of that he had three surgeries, two in the upper body and one on the lower body. So he couldn't do anything. When you go from doing nothing to doing something, you have a big hill to climb with a lot of sore and pulled muscles along the way.

This is the worst part of football season. We have to deal with all the men spreading rumors and gossip like a bunch of b***hes on The View. You can blame the 24 hour sports networks for that. Eventually people run out of substantive s**t to talk about and so it devolves into this petty s**t where common sense gets thrown out the window and in enters sensationalism.

Yeah making this about a QB competition when we have no idea how Kaps body will respond after the surgeries is stupid.

It's Blaine at QB until proven otherwise.

Well that was an unexpected, but entertaining exchange I love all you all on the Zone. Even the ones that have trouble reading my posts
How much does Gabbert play tomorrow?

In all fairness I read your entire post. I wasn't one that had a problem with it. I was just trying to explain why some might.

My point still stands. Don't care what they thought about Blaine years ago. He sucks. In any offense. Can't even complete 50% of his passes in practice.

Seeing how wide open the QB option was after our RB gashed the HOU defense, I immediately wondered if that was Kap, it would have been a TD.

That is the aspect where Kap crushes it compared to Gabbert. Yes, passing must be there but man, if our OL comes through and Hyde doesn't get hurt, we can go a lot farther with Kap than we can with Gabs...unless Gabbert finally finds his chi and starts getting comfortable.

I do want to add that this is what we did to MIN in game 1 last season and then the next week, defenses immediately played the read/option and forced us to throw jumping anything Kap looked at. That is my main concern.

That's the thing about Gabs. What kind of NFL calibre starter with 4 years of experience has the jitters for a pre-season game. Gabbert gets nervous for no reason. Kap has icewater flowing through him.
