If it weren't for a missed field goal the Bills would have beaten the Giants.
If it weren't for a missed field goal, the Seahawks would have been one in done in the playoffs last year.
If it weren't for a missed TD pass the Niners would have won SB XXVII.

We could go on and on. A FG is part of the game and another play that has to be made. Teams win when they make more plays than the other team. So please stop this b******t.

We could go on and on, but those are all facts that shouldn't be ignored.

But before you gt your panties in a twist all I was saying is that Case Keenum actually had a decent game vs the 49ers. Just making a note of that missed field goal.

I'm more concerned about the games in which it was over before halftime.
Top 10 players I'll be watching:

Blaine Gabbert - should go without saying, I have to wonder how well he'll do in the new offense now that we're in the real games.

Anthony Davis - excited to see his transition to starting RG.

Trenton Brown - anxious to watch how he fares against another top DL.

Arik Armstead - want to see what kind of growth he's made since last season.

Navorro Bowman - looking forward to seeing his progression another year removed from the injury.

Tank Carradine - very excited to see him rushing the edge at OLB for the first time in a regular season game.

Eli Harold - hopeful to see a lot of progress to his pass-rush game.

Jeremy Kerley - excited to see what he can do in the slot and for our return game.

Torrey Smith - I'm hopeful he gets utilized a lot more.

Vance McDonald - I'm hopeful he continues to hang on to the ball the way he did in the pre-season. He took some big hits and saw a few less-than-perfect throws but managed to catch them this time instead of flipping them ridiculously into the air for picks like last year. Again, hoping he's turned it around because I was nearly done with him.

Agreed with all of this. Kerley vs Joyner in the slot should be a good one and McDonald is Gabbert's favorite target but Olgletree is very solid in coverage. That should be another great match up. I think Hyde gets 120 total yards and a couple of TDs though. I don't think he will look as great as he did last opener but I think he will have a solid night

Agree completely. After the Bengals game, I wanted him gone so fast. It looks like he put in a lot of work this offseason. Excited to see him play.
Rod Streater catches 4 passes, picks up 3 first downs and scores a TD. Niners win 17-9.
Are they giving anything away at the game?

If two INTs weren't dropped against the Giants and Cardinals we would have been 7-9 last year.

See? I can play this game too.
Anyone worried about our secondary going into this game?

No. At least not vs LA Rams.

I am concerned about our run defense though.

Agree. Not worried about the secondary, that group appears to be solid.

Our run defense is key. The Rams offense clearly will be built around Gurley. We have Purcell at NT. Dial and Dorsey are banged up. Don't know who will start next to Bowman. So there are question marks in the middle of the defense.

Keenum did play a good game against us last year. But I really feel like our secondary is next level good. Of course I am hoping C Davis is healthy or we might see ward move back inside and robinson play outside which I don't have a problem with at all now that I think about it. Robinson is going to take someone's spot before too long. He is capable of shutting WRs down.

Goff being a complete bust, how many games till fisher is fired? I do not expect a lot of points on either side this opening game

Poor Goff does look in over his head. I didn't think he was too great coming out of college, but I certainly didn't expect him to be 3rd string come game 1.

At least give Fisher credit for that. He has recognized Goff just is not a starting caliber player at this point.

It's amazing how many people on this board wanted him! Granted he's a rookie but so far he looks awful.
