Torrey Smith - I'm hopeful he gets utilized a lot more.

Vance McDonald - I'm hopeful he continues to hang on to the ball the way he did in the pre-season. He took some big hits and saw a few less-than-perfect throws but managed to catch them this time instead of flipping them ridiculously into the air for picks like last year. Again, hoping he's turned it around because I was nearly done with him.

Torrey is primarily a deep threat and deep routes need time to develop. Last year time in the pocket was at a premium. This year, The Real American should have the 2-3 seconds to take some deep shots.

Top 10 players I'll be watching:

Blaine Gabbert - should go without saying, I have to wonder how well he'll do in the new offense now that we're in the real games.

Anthony Davis - excited to see his transition to starting RG.

Trenton Brown - anxious to watch how he fares against another top DL.

Arik Armstead - want to see what kind of growth he's made since last season.

Navorro Bowman - looking forward to seeing his progression another year removed from the injury.

Tank Carradine - very excited to see him rushing the edge at OLB for the first time in a regular season game.

Eli Harold - hopeful to see a lot of progress to his pass-rush game.

Jeremy Kerley - excited to see what he can do in the slot and for our return game.

Torrey Smith - I'm hopeful he gets utilized a lot more.

Vance McDonald - I'm hopeful he continues to hang on to the ball the way he did in the pre-season. Not good if we end up watching OL. That means we are looking for who f**ked up. If OL dominate, we will be enjoying a successful play and watching the skill players gain yards.

IF our guys are making plays, it's an indication for sure that the line is playing much better than last year. We can hope.
has blaine gabberts ever played in a mnf ?

Okay, they lost to a horrible team with horrible coaches. Not sure what you want to hear. Gabbert carved them up for 350+ yards. We have Hyde back now, a much improved OL, and a much better coaching staff. I don't fear LA at all, not in our stadium at least.

I fear Carolina though. They'll have over a week to stew about the Broncos loss and we get to fly cross country to play their pissed off asses at their home opener.

If that isn't a runner-up gift by the NFL, I don't know what is. I don't think I'm going off on a limb by saying that if we beat Carolina, we're playoff bound.

But I'm prepared for a big fat L.

Yeah Carolina will definitely be tough but not because they lost. They were going to be tough regardless with it being their home opener and them being a mission that started the moment the SB was over. They are a disciplined defense so I don't expect too much from our offense but ya never know. The trip across the country on a short week with them having 9 days is b******t tho
How many losses before Kelly makes a switch at QB?

As long as Gabbert is playing solid, he is the starting QB. U think Chip or the team wants Kap in there?!? Distraction aside they don't want him getting hurt and being stuck with him or his salary next year!

Chip wants Kaep on this team. Kaep being active and as the #2 QB is the most obvious sign they are willing to put him in if gab goes down.
