I'll tell you man... if there is 1 thing we are REALLY, REALLY good at.. it's SUCKING!
Here's just a cross example of, what I believe, was the true difference in the game. We can talk about how bad Blaine played(really...you could talk for a while about it) but Drew Stanton played horrible as well. The difference was in how we defended the run and how we ran the ball. Earlier, I showed us trying to defend a power run with a scrape exchange. Here, we run a power run play and Ari defenses it with a scrape exchange as well. Their result? +17. Ours? -1

13:08 2nd QTR

We're going to run this from under center..(wait....whaaaaa???)

Ignore the ugly circle...for some reason my drawing program didn't auto-make it a circle instead of an ugly roundish thing. But, you see the EMLOS crash the inside shoulder of the TE and Tiller pull.

I think it's Calais Campbell, does a great job on Staley and Beadles, holding up Staley from getting to the 2nd level. You see the end man coming down on the edge.

For some reason, instead of going to the open space and blocking a defender, Tiller turns and blocks Beadles in the back....

Tiller blocks no one and now you have a man coming off the edge at Hyde and another soon after. If he could kick out the end man, you'd have Hyde 1v1. If anything, you might at least get a couple yards...

Now this is awkward....It looks like Tiller is doing some, "locker room talk"(oohhh bad taste?? Too soon?? lol) to a Cardinal while 2 defenders are free to tackle Hyde for a loss.

Given 100% of our runs are inside, should we safely assume this was also to go inside given the cluster eff of players in the same area getting pwn'd? LOL

lol Tiller. We see him have trouble targeting second level blocks but this is as basic a block as there is - kickout block on a force defender.

No. Tiller clearly didn't know what he was supposed to do.
This is why I don't think changing QB's will matter. Everybody is f**king lost!

Bwahahaha. So true!
Even with some of the mishaps, there were plays to be made in the passing game that could impacted the outcome, I'm hoping Kap can take advantage of those opportunities.

Unless Tiller wants Gabbert replaced.

Okay I think I know what's supposed to happen. The TE (Celek) is supposed to kickout and Tiller is supposed to lead through the hole. When ARI exchanges gaps, DE crashes down instead of playing edge contain, it requires an on the fly adjustment by Tiller. He no longer leads through, he should kickout. Tiller is dead set on leading through the hole, even when there's no hole there. That's why he just runs right into Staley's backside.
I'm going to show these breakdowns to our 8th grade team. Pretty much the same things happening.
Seems like the last two games, the teams have been crashing their ends hard and filling in with the LB and or S to the run side. It's been killing us. I don't know why we are not coming up with a counter-move to teams committing 2 defenders that hard to one side. We easily would have the numbers in the passing game in this situation if the DL is simply slanting hard.

They have been doing this with only 7 in the box. With Gabbert having ran more, this means to me that they don't care if the QB runs because they will rely on their LB's to close in for a 3 yard gain by our QB. This also means they don't think we will run our QB every play and they are correct.

Let's hope Kap is faster than the LB's and turns Gabbert's 3-6 yarders into 10 yarders. I know there were a couple where if Kap was in for Blaine, it would have gone for a huge gain down the sideline.
