Stunk today. 400+ total yards 2 TDs with Patton and McDonald. All that talent.

Lol. He had about 300 yards of RAC. Throwing 5 yard passes and the receiver did the rest.

Bro, hate to have to dig up stats, in 2012, we were 11th in Total Offense which is a lot more than what you can say about the current mess now as in we are 32nd, absolute dead last!!!

What is more important is we were actually winning games and not going on a 7-game losing streak. So, go figure!

While I agree our D back then was top notch, we still had to put points on the board. Our O was more than good enough to win us ball games and that goes beyond the single Packers playoff game. Remember how we beat the Pats at Gillette??

I completely agree

The difference is the defense

We consistently got off the field on D in 2012 to give the offense more chances, now it's an amazing feat for our D to get off the field without giving up some sort of extended drive for points.

If you really look at how our offense operates now it consistently schemes receivers open (but or qb can barely hit them) and we have a top 5 rushing offense even with our putrid D

Regardless 2012 was a stacked super bowl team and we have nowhere near the roster we had then so the offensive scheme isn't the issue as much as people want to keep throwing that narrative around

49ers had the #2 overall defense in 2012. That was the reason for a good offense, not the other way around. In 2012, nobody ran on the 49ers and nobody had chunk plays against them. That was a great defense.

I never said it was the other way around. My point is our O in 2012 was way better than the crap now. Seeing how the current train wreck has unfolded and if you can still dispute that, then I rest my case.

His play kept 49ers in the game until late in the 3rd. He found receivers in the flat that he wouldn't have found last year. He hit TEs on the hash marks over LBs, something he had problems with in the past. I saw a lot of growth from Kap in this game. One of his best games.

You guys are dedicated. Always finding new ways to devalue anything the kid does.

I'll remember the YAC argument when people get all in their feelings about the previous QB.

They had 600 yards in one game. Aside from that they averaged barely more than half that total which would've placed them in the bottom third of the league. And this is coming from someone who agrees with you, but that offense was overrated.

Thank you
They cried that Kaep wasn't making the right reads. That he couldn't take what the defense gave him. That he was too homerun and not enough singles. Well, he did that today and now they're taking that away from them.

Further proving my point that much of the Kaep criticism is rooted in some sort of unexplainable hatred for the guy.

When Blaine was racking up YAC the retort was "he's making the right reads" "he's leading the team down the field". I guess things are different with Kaep.

Yes, 2012 offense was better - 24.6 pts/g. 2016 offense average 20.6 pts/g. 2012 offense did a much better job of controlling the clock and chewed up more yards per game. 2016 offense can be better if it gets more shots, but Chip's offense isn't a ball control offense like Harbaugh's power running offense.

Kap had a good game minus the two turnovers that lead to points the other way. Was expected against one of the worst D's in the league however.
Not sure how people are still blaming kap for this pathetic a** excuse of a team...you give the guy a normal starting running back, a halfway decent defense and a real NFL coach...things would be much different. Our ownership is an absolute joke and so is 75% of this "fan" base.

Shocking Kap put up some good stats and you come right back posting about him. I don't remember you being this adamant last game. I wonder why...

He still completed the passes and some were to the receiver in stride so they could accumulate that much YAC. All that yardage is a team effort. On the defensive side it was another horrid s**t show. They were even more of a dumpster fire without Lynch and Robinson. The difference in quality between RR and Reaser is pretty stark even with some of the rookie mistakes.

Oh how funny.

Against the worst defense and secondary that the 49ers will see all season. Largely fizzled in the 2nd half beyond some garbage time stats.
I thought the offense did pretty well outside the turnovers, oline did fine, need 2 stud RB's in this offense. Defense still looks porus
