I think the 49ers are trying to create picks over the middle of the field. That's how the 49ers scored on the Hyde and Celek TD catches - creating picks against man coverage. MIA is in some sort of hybrid coverage. The two CBs over the WRs are in man coverage. The rest are in zone. Notice where Hyde is lined up.

Kilgore looks to help Beadles with #90. Hyde looks as if to give Garnett some help on Suh. When Suh makes an inside move, Hyde doesn't bother to chip block or help Garnett. Don't know what Hyde is supposed to do here, but there has to be a reason why he was lined up in that odd position. I can't think of a reason why Kilgore would help Beadles and leave Garnett 1v1 with Suh. That's why I think Hyde was there to help Garnett.

Hyde releases into a route and Garnett is beat. Kap is looking over the middle for something to develop.

Kap completes his drop and nothing is open anywhere. Streater's runs a slow slant. Torrey's CB has outside leverage on the Corner route.

Even if Garnett had held his block and Kap was not pressured, there is a mass of defenders in the middle of the field and nothing is open because MIA is playing zone in the middle of the field and picks don't happen against zone coverage.

Kap is pump faking to buy space, but if he had saw Hyde, it's possible that with a high pass Hyde could channel his inner Dwight Clark - maybe. I don't expect Kap to see Hyde with Suh on his heels and #47 in the passing lane. It would have taken a great play.
