Reports were, IIRC, are their analysis GM machine has Garrett off the charts. And they'll trade for JG. But we'll see.

Excuse my precious post. I had to record the 2nd half and watch it later, so it's still fresh.

Here's what's wrong with this team... Our coaching staff is trash and we lack playmakers on the roster.

Trent has put together a talented defensive unit. Injuries, a terrible DC, and a miserable offense has all been a perfect storm for our inability to stop anyone. We need a NT, OLB and ILB depth. Got it. This unit is on the rise.

Our offense is a trainwreck. Chip's system is adequate, but he doesn't have a QB that can accurately deliver the ball to his WRs. This WR corp is the worst I've ever seen. Trent has to own that. Hyde is a solid player, but he's the only threat we have.

To me, it all comes down to coaching. I don't think Chip is the answer. I think Kyle Shannahan is the best coach available because he has a proven system. It works regardless of the personnel. As in Atlanta, its deadly with the right personnel.

At the QB position, we need something bad. I've been a Kaepernick fan, but I can't support him anymore. I disagree with his non-football stuff, but that's not it. He's too inconsistent and doesn't have the arm talent to be a franchise QB. Grappollo is an option, but he's risky. NE makes every QB look great. It's the most QB-friendly system ever. Grap/Cassel/Brady, doesn't matter. That goes back to excellent coaching and having a successful system in place.

We lack too many pieces to be winning right now. Trent isn't the answer to build the offense and until we get a QB, it won't really matter anyway.

A QB is going to be inconsistent with not much talent around him. I mean, I'm OK with people criticizing Kaep but it seems the expectations are not really realistic. I've seen receivers drop countless balls in key situations. It has happened all season. Kaep has had some misfires no doubt, luckily I watch other QBs and see the same stuff. Keep in mind Kaep did not have any offseason workouts with any of the guys on the roster. He did not get any chance to build any kind of chemistry with any of them. A lot of timing throws are all about repetitions and chemistry. None of that has been built up. I saw Kaep in the past making these throws with guys like Boldin and Crabtree.

The expectation that Kaep should be winning games with a roster of players who were not starters anywhere coming into the season is a little off. Not saying Kaep is pefect or has been great all year. He has had ups and downs but more ups than downs IMO.

I watched that 1st overall pick you guys are clamouring for complete 11 passes throw 2 picks. While some of you think drafting a QB #1 is the solution to all of our problems, what do you do if we have a Goff situation? Would hate to see us desperately draft a QB way too high and get stuck with a Goff situation. Would drive me insane.

But as for inconsistency at the QB position, you're going to see that with lesser talent. Unless it's it's Brady, Rogers, and a few other good luck getting consistent play with #4's and 5's at receiver and TE with no offeason.

Lastly, people taking out their frustrations for a win on the QB is shameful. But that's what 9er fans do.

We're just gonna have to f**k their plans up somehow. We'll bring in Kevin Costner to spearhead a trade for Jimmy G first.

Ahhhh KC...good move! Good move indeed.
KC they take our stud MEN....lead them into pliable norhtern CA women and breed why? Michelle tanner thankfully avoided that! Kurt Cameron an Christian preached that I prevented that, but the cost was Harbaugh left for almost cansdaian michingan
I'll be the first one to admit I was rooting for a loss today. I haven't been all season but having that 1st pick is huge. Yes it can be bungled, but you hold the power.
I understand the players wanting to win and I was reminded of that after the Rashard int. Happy for them.

This doesn't make me think if we had the 1st pick we're suddenly contenders but it gives hope that we can turn this thing around sooner rather than later. Myles Garrett could go long way in helping that.

Kaep does have the worst receivers possibly in the history of the NFL. That doesn't mean he learned how to go through progressions or learn to put "touch" on his ball. He didn't. Rodgers would struggle to succeed with this core. So when I tell you I am ready to move on from Kaep it doesn't make me a "hater" or think the next QB will succeed with this group, I just want a true QB that can in the future be a face of this franchise.

Either I am totally out of the loop or that was one heck of a victory celebration.
I know I'm being politically incorrect here but if I'm being honest, I can't help but feel disappointed with todays moral win.
A lot of these players won't be on the team in a year or two and 2-14 is nothing to get excited about. I guess todays game will be good for our young Corner Robinson, it could fuel the kids career.
Not the end of the world I know, but man we need all the help we can get..........Here's to hoping Cleveland don't take Garrett.

If we somehow manage to beat Seattle next week and effect their playoff seeding then I'll feel a bit better, but I'm not gonna enjoy the build up to the draft as much as I would have if we were picking first thats the truth..

Tin hat on

Maybe the errant throws stick out too much in my mind. I think he completed something like 74% of his passes and did manage to put up 274 yards with completions to several different receivers and some of those receivers were people he hasn't worked with a lot. And his legs came in real handy in the fourth quarter. I can't help but be concerned, though, about his reliance on his proficiency with bullet passes.

IF we can some how quickly develop a winning team, man we could almost have an extra home game on the schedule with Rams being in LA.

there was nothing but Red in the stands today. We gotta hurry up before the Rams build a winning team themselves.

Good to hear. I wish I was back home to see the game in LA. Next year hopefully.
