I was thinking about this earlier but all this hype on Garappolo reminds of when Matt Flynn took over for Rodgers and he shined for a few games then signed with Seattle in hopes to be the answer at qb over Tavaris Jackson and looked how that turned out lol
Once again you're talking about vastly different QB's. Garoppolo was a 2nd round pick that set records in college, has the skillset that NFL teams are looking for.
Flynn was a 7th rounder. He had a few nice games and made himself some $$$$ but he never had the talent that Garoppolo possesses.

It's crazy how many times this must be explained to people here lol. I see at least 5-10 cassel/Flynn comparisons a day. He is neither of those scrubs, and a little research would show that. I guess it's easier to make bland comparisons though.

How does were they were drafted somehow not make the comparison valid? So because they were a late round pick that means somehow they are less players and were destined to fail, while someone drafted early must have the talent meaning they wont bust? So did Clip Kelly fail because he failed to maximize Blaine Gabbert 1st round talent? Is it okay if Dak regresses next year because he was taken in the 4th round & that means he just isn't that good?
Go beyond where he is drafted, that he's bradys backup, and all other simple lazy comparisons. Look at his intangibles- guy has a quick release, great decision maker, good mechanics, accurate, throws receivers open, and is pretty athletic. Am I saying the guy is automatically destined for canton? No. I'm saying this guy has a skillset that is promising, and qiven our qb situation, he's worth looking into. Espcially if we get mcdaniels
