There was a 2nd rounder by the name of Kevin Kolb who had a similar history as Cassel, Flynn only Philly chased McNabb out for. It works with higher picks too.

If NE actually had a track record of creating qb's like Holmgren did I'd put more weight into him. I think he's a humongous gamble.

There's a reason certain players get picked higher and more higher rd picks turn into starters vs 7th rd picks.

Once again you're talking about vastly different QB's. Garoppolo was a 2nd round pick that set records in college, has the skillset that NFL teams are looking for.


Flynn was a 7th rounder. He had a few nice games and made himself some $$$$ but he never had the talent that Garoppolo possesses.

How does were they were drafted somehow not make the comparison valid? So because they were a late round pick that means somehow they are less players and were destined to fail, while someone drafted early must have the talent meaning they wont bust?
