My ideal scenario for KS and whoever our GM is going to be.

1. Trade a 4th and a conditional 4th next year for AJ McCarron (if he does well, it turns into a third). Draft a mid-late round QB to develop for depth and insurance. (like Kirk Cousins was).
2. Trade our number 2 pick to a very needy QB team (like the jets at 6). This would give us some extra picks that would be very good, potentially a first in 2018. We could take BPA and just load up on quality young players.
3. sign some veterans in FA to help implement the system and teach the guys how to be professionals.

I know some people don't care for AJ, but I think this would be a great scenario and would put us in a great position going forward. It also wouldn't hurt us too bad if AJ didnt work out. This would give us the jets first round pick in 2018 that we could use on a QB if need be.

I really like what McCarron did in the playoff couple years ago for the Bengals. Almost forgotten about him. Seems like a good leader. Dealt with pressure situation really well. Intriguing scenario.

Nobody knows that. Washington looked like a pretty dysfunctional team, with a lot potential. Atlanta on the other hand...

McVay will be judged on what he can do with Goff. Goff still need major work but when a team asks you at 30 years old you say 'yes'. You can't wait to hear what another team will do if you already have an offer on the table.

Thing about McVay is that he has been working under an offensive mind. I mean he just took over play calling this year. I'm pumped about Shannahan!

Is FL9er making up sh*t again? Of course, we didn't offer McVay the job, are you out of your mind?! LOL.

Get this, the kid is 30 and he has only been an OC for 1 year!! And don't forget, he was taught by no one other than our own Kyle Shanahan who has way more experience than him. In other words, we have the master and the Rams has the young grasshopper.

As for McDaniels, you can bet your as* he didn't just "withdraw", he was given the opportunity by us to announce it as a withdrawal to save face. And same goes with Cable.

I really think you give us too much credit. Lol

Neat idea, but how is ANY other team in the league more QB needy than the 9ers??

We had Thaddeus on IR. and Kap was improving. Ponder is married to a reporter of some repute and was good in pre season.

PFF had us rated the worst QB situation coming in to the season. Taking out BG and adding Watson or Trubisky would improve that status. But realistically blowing up that position and getting the "right fit" QB in FA and the draft would go lot further in the right direction.

So, AJ McCarron is the future of the franchise?! Are you an Alabama fan or something?!

Absolutely NO!! Worst idea I've heard for quite sometime.

Common sense, mate.

I can bet you any money there is no way anyone would "withdraw" from the interview unless they are not getting the job.

Only way I'm bringing in AJ is if we draft qb high...dude had AJ green/Sanu/jones, great defense, OL and running game behind him.

Whoever we bring in, if we sign a FA or make a trade for a vet, we still need to draft a QB in the first couple of rounds imo. We haven't worked on QB development since, um, Montana/Young/Bono etc.

So unless something abrupt happens in Indy or Houston, 6th & final opening is now essentially filled. @nflnetwork
