I really like what McCarron did in the playoff couple years ago for the Bengals. Almost forgotten about him. Seems like a good leader. Dealt with pressure situation really well. Intriguing scenario.

McVay did not turn the job down. 49ers just weren't quite ready to make a offer and the Rams jumped in.

Nobody knows that. Washington looked like a pretty dysfunctional team, with a lot potential. Atlanta on the other hand...

McVay will be judged on what he can do with Goff. Goff still need major work but when a team asks you at 30 years old you say 'yes'. You can't wait to hear what another team will do if you already have an offer on the table.

Thing about McVay is that he has been working under an offensive mind. I mean he just took over play calling this year. I'm pumped about Shannahan!

As for McDaniels, you can bet your as* he didn't just "withdraw", he was given the opportunity by us to announce it as a withdrawal to save face. And same goes with Cable.

We had Thaddeus on IR. and Kap was improving. Ponder is married to a reporter of some repute and was good in pre season.

PFF had us rated the worst QB situation coming in to the season. Taking out BG and adding Watson or Trubisky would improve that status. But realistically blowing up that position and getting the "right fit" QB in FA and the draft would go lot further in the right direction.

I can bet you any money there is no way anyone would "withdraw" from the interview unless they are not getting the job.

Whoever we bring in, if we sign a FA or make a trade for a vet, we still need to draft a QB in the first couple of rounds imo. We haven't worked on QB development since, um, Montana/Young/Bono etc.
