OK besides our personal wish list who are people actually linked to shanny that I can expect to honestly be in the mix?

Matt LaFleur or Mike McDaniel, both currently offensive assistants with Atlanta.

Raheem Morris, Kyle's BFF, was a secondary coach, NFL HC and has now gone the full Mangini and is a WR's coach with the Falcons.

Marquand Manuel, Falcons secondary coach, one of the favorites to be Kyle's DC.

From the Broncos, guys who were let go from Kubiak's staff->

Rick Dennison-OC for both Mike Shanahan and Gary Kubiak. Has been working for one or the other since 1995. Has been a QB coach, special teams coordinator and OL coach. Most recently OC for the Broncos.

Brian Pariani-started as scout for 49ers, offensive assistant under Shanahan with 49ers, TE coach for Shanahan in Denver and for Kubiak in Houston and Denver.

Greg Knapp-Former QB coach and OC for 49ers. OC for four other teams. Worked under Kubiak in Houston and Denver.

Thanks. With falcons "likely to block" the falcons assistants I wonder if we will get them. Can they block a promotion?

As far as I understand, any promotion other than to head coach can be blocked.
All I have to say is:

THANK GOD THE WCO IS COMING BACK TO THE WEST COAST.

They can still quit.

You guys think Kubiak would come in alongside Kyle as a consultant of some kind?

Luke Getsy, Karl Dorrell and Matt LaFleur as OC candidates.

Would love Aaron Kromer as O-Line coach.
Bill Kollar for D Line.
Frank Bush and Tarver at LB's

Would LOVE Raheem Morris as DB's coach but NOT as DC

This. Kromer and Kollar are two of the best coaches in the NFL in their position field. They would be great additions. I think Lafleur or Rick Dennison are almost a sure bet to be the OC.

It's also very likely that Brian Pariani will be brought on as the tight ends coach. He has long term ties to Mike Shanahan, going all the way back to 1992.

Eventhough, there are no ties between Kyle and him as far as I know. Pepper Johnson would be worth a look on the defensive staff, maybe as a linebackers coach.

That's a very good point in the fact that Kyle not only has the benefit of his own connections, but the network of connections through his father as well.

Yep. That was one of the most attractive things to me about Kyle early in this process. He's now coordinated for four different franchises and worked for five. He worked under Jon Gruden as well so has those potential ties to him and his connections. Then there's Mike and his 30 years of ties to the NFL. Kyle is well networked at this point, and really shouldn't have a problem attracting people to his staff.

Mike coached just 3 years ago. He has plenty of connections.

Did you bother taking a look at that staff by chance? The vast majority of those guys were Kyle's connections who are either now with him in Atlanta, back in college or employed by other teams, one is even a HC(McVay).

If you look at most of Mike's staffs in Denver, most of those guys aren't in the league anymore.

The guys that are out there are those who worked under Kubiak for a long time and in some cases Mike but the majority are on the offensive side of the ball and of course those working with Kyle with the Falcons.

To me Phoenix, It's been said that the NFL is a close knit community. A guy like Mike Shanahan that's been around for so long surely has met friends of friends and knows plenty of people that he may not necessarily have worked with.

For example when Gase hired Clyde Christensen they had never worked together but said they had spoke on the phone in the past to share ideas about Peyton Manning. You never know who knows who and why. There are more ways than one to connect with other coaches and there are plenty of people still coaching in the league that have been present at some point through Mike's 30 years invested.

One name I've heard in connection with Kyle Shanahan for possible #49ers D-coordinator position is Falcons secondary coach Marquand Manuel.

I wonder if coach manuel will ask any 49ers if the are gay?

The only promotions recognized by the NFL are from assistant to HC. If you're not hiring a guy for HC, its a lateral move, regardless of the title.

He wouldn't need to ask in SF.

Who cares can he coach? Obviously that would mean switching to the 4-3
