After reading that article on Saleh and his journey... I have a lot of respect for him. I've looked him up and read up on him and I personally think he is going to be surprisingly great. very excited to see how he gels with our defense and puts together this unit.

I personally have studied up on 9/11 a lot, and no I'm not some conspiracy theorist, the whole event just made me ask a lot of questios to myself.

"if I was up there, would I be at peace with what I've accomplished or how I lived my life?"
"who would I call for my last phone call? and would If that same situation happened to me today, would I be at peace with my relationships with the people I value?"

It is really just a tragic day in our history. anywho, his brother was in one of the towers and ended up living. Crazy.

Seriously, to think the person on the intercom who came on to tell everyone who was evacuating that everything was OK and to return to their desks, s/he may have cost 100's of lives. Luckily, his brother was smart enough to say, "Eff that...I'm still getting out of here!" Had he not 'seen' the explosion personally, he may have just stayed in the building or returned to his desk or returned once he heard the intercom announcement. Wow...

Under Jim Bob O'Neil system the 49ers defense sat back & got run over by a mack truck. Jim Bob O'Neil did not make any adjustments the whole season. Nothing changes. It just got worst after Bowman went down. Under Saleh system the defensive players will be allowed to hit someone. Give the players a chance to do their job. Not handcup the players like Jim Bob O'Neil's system did.

Jim Bob O'Neil has explained to Saleh how he failed.

The idea is for Saleh to do the exact opposite of what Jim Bob O'Neil did.

And Jim Bob is ok with it, he has had the discussion with Saleh.

It's ok...you thought Jim O'Neill was still on staff as co DC like you thought Haralson was BY. No biggie

It is Jim Bob O'Neil and as I said at the time; he is not still on the staff at 9er HQ; but he is giving his ideas of what did and didn't work last year as aprt of a debrief to the new crew under Saleh's auspicious and guidance.

That is where they are atm; on the journey.

RIP Jim O'Neill

I met Jim Bob O'Neil after one of the games last year at Levi Stadium. He was sobbing in the corner of one of the big suites, unable to get control of his bodily facilities.

I tried to pick him up and carry him out but his body was cavorting so extremely he could hardly walk.

Jim Bob said to me in-between his snivers in that big broad accent of his" they are going to sack me"

I said to him; "Jim Bob! Write a book or write some sort of memoirs so that those who come after you as the next Defensive Co-Coordinators of the 49ers have some idea what you have learnt and what you have experienced.

Under Kyle that continuity has happened and now as part of the terms and conditions of their payouts, each ex-employee of the San Francisco 40ers has to make themselves available to the incumbent.

I think this is a great situation as the knowledge transfer is invaluable and your intellectual property doesn't just walk out the door when you sack everyone.

Remember; ts and cs always apply.

And sometimes they are for the good.
