Same here. It'll take longer to have that kind of success(we need to be in the 3-5 year plan), but I feel good.

BTW, if retained, Tom Rathman will be heading into his 23rd season as a 49er. (Coach+player)

As long as Rathman comes back I'll be happy.

Rothman can never leave. It just can't happen.

He's survived the worst this franchIse could dish out. He's a true Niner.

He's also one of the best RB coaches in the NFL. His players are always well coached and ready to play.

I'm still a bit skeptical on how Kyle will handle the leadership role over the entire roster but I've long wanted the 49ers to ultilize that blocking scheme, to install more legit WCO principles, to become a much more aggressive, attacking team and keep scoring points until the clock runs out, not going into the tank as soon as you get a 7 point lead.

I agree. He'll probably need familiar faces on offense and an assistant HC to start.

I think his offensive design will be his most valuable contribution.

I think the defensive coordinator is going to be nearly as important as the HC hire. He needs to find the right guy that preferably is experienced, knows exactly what he needs for his defense to run and how to call a defense in the flow of a game. I don't want to see any people like O'Neil who are still finding their way and experimenting.

If he could land someone like Donatell or Pettine who could basically run their side of the ball as an entirely independent unit and let Kyle focus on the offense and general gameplan, that would be tremendous. Not a fan of the idea of Raheem Morris or Marquand Manuel, two first time DC's getting the job.

Bill Polian on NFL Insiders was talking about some of the first time challenges for a brand new HC...he's going to make some mistakes. He also noted that we're into this for the long haul so he may not get all the coaches he really wants THIS YEAR. So expect some turnover until he gets his staff exactly how he wants it.

I like Rick Dennison. I think Matt LaFleur could be a name to keep an eye on though and I think Mike McDaniel will almost certainly be on this staff in some capacity. Aaron Kromer, Luke Getsy and Karl Dornell are three names I would also throw out there. Dornell in particular. Getsy is a rising coaching star

Local as well if I'm not mistaken? Live oak or Elk grove, something along those lines?
Two guys who I think will almost certainly be in the staff; Mike McDaniel and Brian Pariani. I would also look for Greg Knapp to come on as a QB's or Senior assistant coach. I bet u money McDaniel is on this staff though, either as WR's or TE's coach

I remember him...lol. He was a solid LB. I wouldn't mind him as the LB coach or something on the staff. Any niner alumini is welcome.

Donatell has my vote.
