Lance Schulters as safeties coach.
Ed Donatell and John Pagano are my top DC candidates and I also like Jason Tarver, Jim Haslett and Don Martindale

The staff buildout should be pretty seamless since we're hiring a HC and GM with legitimate networks, which obviously will be crucial to Shanahan's success. No more of this Tomsula/Kelly patchwork malarkey.

Just a matter of giving the staff the talent and the time or vice versa. This mess won't be fixed quickly, unfortunately. Unless we get incredibly lucky. But I am optimistic regardless.

Just floating Brent Venebles name out there, DC Clemson. The guy has run a top 10 D in the NCAA for the past twelve years with two different teams. He did it last year after losing seven starters to the NFL. Can developed young talent quickly and has pretty good chops with 4/3 or 3/4.

I remember that guy lol.
Solid player.
Live Oak in Morgan Hill
I ran into him in Target there one time. A guy that used to work for me played football with him there.

I wouldn't mind having Fisher as D.C. Just because he knows this division and wouldn't mind having mike shanahan as QB assistant HC under Kyle. Have someone familiar with the division who hates the division might be a good thing for us God knows he likes to beat on the Seahawks and wants revenge on the Rams. Don't know how much of a pain Fisher would be but I think he can improve our D. Mike should really stabilize our offense wouldn't mind seeing what he could do with Kap even though that looks like a forgone conclusion that he is leaving but might be able to stay and improve with this offense

OK besides our personal wish list who are people actually linked to shanny that I can expect to honestly be in the mix?

KS is not going to go old school with the DC position, if he did it would be someone like Fangio that has a very cooperative nature. KS has been around these old regime coaches his whole life and his dad is just a phone call away. He seems like an interactive type that likes to have a very objective but same page group of coaches. I see a cerebral type that lives for X's and O's and strategizing with the same personel oriented philosophy. I think this could be best addressed from the college ranks.

Matt LaFleur or Mike McDaniel, both currently offensive assistants with Atlanta.
Raheem Morris, Kyle's BFF, was a secondary coach, NFL HC and has now gone the full Mangini and is a WR's coach with the Falcons.
Marquand Manuel, Falcons secondary coach, one of the favorites to be Kyle's DC.
From the Broncos, guys who were let go from Kubiak's staff->
Rick Dennison-OC for both Mike Shanahan and Gary Kubiak. Has been working for one or the other since 1995. Has been a QB coach, special teams coordinator and OL coach. Most recently OC for the Broncos.
Brian Pariani-started as scout for 49ers, offensive assistant under Shanahan with 49ers, TE coach for Shanahan in Denver and for Kubiak in Houston and Denver.
Greg Knapp-Former QB coach and OC for 49ers. OC for four other teams. Worked under Kubiak in Houston and Denver.

I'd like to see mostly young blood staff with very few old timers...I'd also luv if we would raid the Steelers and Ravens peoples...Steelers and Ravens are tha gold standard(IMO) at drafting 3-4 players and just getting everything they can out of every player they draft...

Oc doesn't matter much bc Shanahan will have his hands all over the offense and be calling plays but DC I wish it wasn't basically within his encore..i wish it was a strong confident fiery accomplished DC..as for the rest positions id like to see him take an ex niner with him in Shulters ...Hoftra baby lol

Has Dorrell been making some noise recently?
I thought he was so-so in the college ranks. I assumed he'd be assistant for the rest of his career.
