I kinda enjoy splash hires. If we bring in Dominik or a solid personnel guy with experience I'll be happy.

I love seeing niner talk freak out also so that's fun.

with no experience at either coaching and GM positions, wouldn't you freak out? this team is mess, they wouldn't know where to start. it's like JED wants to make his legacy, except he has no clue how to do it .

I love the Shannahan hire and it's gonna be his show similar to billicheck. I don't like York But I'm a niner fan and I'm gonna cheer for him and not freak out over things out of my control.

If he is as smart as some are saying then he won't have a problem adjusting on the run. Especially if we get people around him.

I know people are freaking out around the league but I think John Lynch is incredibly bright & he'll surround himself with smart dudes.

This. A lot will depend on his staff, not just him in isolation.

I think this will work out. I like it
How can this ever be justified? John Elway had experience in football management and showed demonstrated acumen. Lynch has nothing to warrant this position. They could have had one of the best prospects in Patton. Even then their second choice was for more experienced and proven than many other potential candidates. But Lynch!! Huh!! It tells me that Parag and Jed are simply not prepared for their jobs. They continue to make one catastrophic decision after another. They live in some kind of disconnected fantasy world divorced from what it actually takes to be successful in the NFL. Why in the hell would you ever give a 6 year contract to someone with no experience, no credentials, no time even as a coach or coordinator. This guy can only be a figure head. What does he know about managing a whole football organization? This is a HUGE leap for him, in a situation that is already a dumpster fire of chaos. To expect someone like Paton to come in a straighten this mess out is reasonable. But, someone with no experience other than playing safety and TV announcing. Sorry, but unless you get someone of the level of the candidates they interviewed to actually take over the day to day and relegate Lynch to being a figurehead, this things is going to implode like nothing you have never seen.

I've been a fan since the early 80's and have gone through many ups and downs. Can't take it anymore. This kind of abysmal, incalculable incompetence is simply too much for me to handle. I simply cannot support this level of arrogance, incompetence and disconnect from reality...

I agree. Couldn't get a former 9er?

Jed avoids former 49ers players , seems he doesnt want anything to do with Uncle Eddie's tree, wants his own mess.

Ok. We will refer to this in the fall...when you're actively rooting for this team.

I went to Stanford. And, Bill Walsh lived down the street from me. That means I shoulda been the GM.

If they were just going to hire some Hall of Famer and commentator...why not just hire Steve Young?!

Kyle must know Steve...WTF? I think this is again the blatant refusal to embrace and promote the past and history of this franchise. Stupid ass Jed!
