AB, who you got?

1 or more of Moseley, Ward, Greenlaw, & Al-Shaair, all have base salaries high enough to lower to get extensions done.

We've got a lot of young defensive guys coming due. Of course, Jimmy G is also only signed through this season…

Aiyuk?

How about some of the DL given we bring in so many 1 year DL contracts. Maybe lock up a few smaller contracts for 2-3 years?

So why the hell didn't Lynch complete the trade for a guy they were going to cut?

Because it takes two sides to get a deal done.

It could be that Lynch was asking for too much.

Sure but there are also other potential reasons Philly might have decided not to pull the trigger.

Aiyuk's not eligible for a new deal till after 2022.

Such as Philly only putting "if we get him off waivers, great, but otherwise not worth giving up a pick" value on him

DL wise, Ebukam & Omenihu have high enough base salaries to get extensions done, either would be good signings IMO, Givens is a RFA after 2022, maybe him. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Fantastic interview. I choose to believe our GM when he says there was good interest at the combine and Jimmys surgery put the trade talks on the back burner. Anyone who says Jimmy isn't good or teams didn't have interest need to give it a rest. If you still believe that then it has become personal for you guys.

Really awesome stuff regarding Trey and Jimmys relationship. How the resigning unfolded. I love the candidness of our GM and coach.

This interview demonstrates Lynch's outstanding and natural leadership. Kudos to him. Leadership is one of those things that you can't really define, but when you see it, you know. Kyle struggles with it, Lynch is a natural (or more likely, he's naturally good at it but continuously improves).

Teams didn't have interest because of the injury and the salary. Unfortunately for Jimmy, injuries are a big part of the overall package. Like it or not, you can't overlook the fact that he's missed almost as many games as he's played. That doesn't even count the ones he played while injured at the end of last year. Any team that's considering signing a QB has to look at cost, ability and reliability. If he didn't have the constant health issues the Niners wouldn't have moved on. They certainly wouldn't have used all those picks to move up and get Trey.
