John Lynch has done a amazing job. He is a way better GM than most guys in the league. This roster is so damn talented. The thing is that's different with Baalke is that our drafts and Free agents seem to be getting better as opposed to declining.

When draft picks and FA's are getting better and not worse, that is a testament to great coaching.

True, but the guy also has to be able to compete in the NFL in the first place. Look at Baalke's Offensive Line picks vs Lynch's.

Sure. There are special players who can transcend poor coaching. But even solid players will regress if coaching is subpar.
Call me crazy but I wish the 49ers would bring back Scot McCloughan and let him focus entirely on college scouting. As the guy pulling the trigger on draft picks, he has been absolutely abysmal but teams have always done well in the draft with him as one of the top personnel guys in the building.

Local Bay Area guy, long family history with football, he seems to love scouting and watching film, if they could put him in a position where that's all he does while not having to worry about the day to day stuff, he might be an extremely valuable asset to have around.

couldn't agree more, i've been watching recent videos of McGloughan evaluating several teams draft classes over the past few years and he is very nuanced and thorough in his evaluations. He is a lot of things, but he no doubt has an eye for talent.

NonSense !!

Bringing him back is nothing but a stupid idea..

we've been there and have seen that.. we have talent all over the team!!

we need a better HC..

One who can game plan against real opponents and not just the lowly Cards... Find opponents weaknesses instead of finding pretty plays from his playbook and calling it right there and then..

UNTIL KS10 learns how to game plan around opponents, he'll be nothing more than a VERY GOOD OC !!

Scott can stay where he at...

Yeah, he was one of the top personnel people working under John Schneider.

I wouldn't be opposed. He always seemed to have a good eye for talent
Pay him in bourbon and let the man get to work
I wonder if we take a sniff at Melvin Gordon? At least try him out.

Aaron Rodgers seems like he'll be available.

Have Shanahan swallow some control and go win!

if released, a new contract can be made, if waived and not claimed, a new contract can be made.. Only in a trade or claimed on waivers do we absorb the contract
