I'm not saying Gipson is some worldbeater, but last year alone he had more INTs than Jimmie did in the last six seasons combined!

Some of yall would rather be miserable because you're comfortable than change for the better or try to improve.

Well Jawaan Taylor is currently the highest paid RT in the league and he's not even a pro-bowler. They might be tossing him on the left side now though.

mike is the 5th highest paid RT (APY) and people in here thought he sucked.

we all want pro-bowler across the OL. It's much harder to find that nowadays. College football doesn't have these guys in a bunch of pro sets. It really is developing under fire. Having a QB that's smart, knows where to go with the ball, and can move helps everything.

people complaining about mobile QBs sound like an old crotchety man…it's what the league is now. The prospects coming up are not your old school drop back passers. They're dynamic athletes that can throw the ball.

I'd rather have Ward, but he was gonna cost more. I think they will draft someone there as well.

My point was that most RT's would be LT's if they were pro bowlers because not all LT's in the NFL are elite and protecting the blindside is far more important than anchoring the right side.

The only RT that I can think of that fits that criteria is Lane Johnson.

I was wrong, he had as many interceptions (5 in 2022) as Ward did in the last six seasons.
This will be a great draft for the 49ers. Lots of 5th round picks. No one really trusts them much in the 1st round

Ward history's at Safety, he doesn't get interception. 2 int at Safety in his career which happen in 2021.

I think Ward talked himself off the team by wanting to play free safety. I hated his attitude after the Eagles game.

That's his natural position tbf.

Either way, I would hope that the 9ers use a draft pick or two on the safety position this year.
I like the fact that Lynch and company are acting quickly and signing players that can help. They already filled 2 needs (backup QB and defensive line) and resigned Gipson to replace Ward. With all the draft picks they can concentrate on the O line and maybe another edge rusher. Of course they'll draft at least one DB too.

And a kicker!

We'll need one of those moving forward

Everyone knows we need a kicker, we may force a kicker to be picked in round 2 or early 3rd round.

Lol no, with one of our 5ths. A 2nd round or 3rd on a kicker even if you need one is insanity. No team is saying oh the 9ers need a kicker let's take one that early to f**k them over

Teams that need a kicker will have to jump us.

remember we are the team that took a punter in the 4th round so you never know when we will pull the trigger. There will probably be a kicker that will get picked in the middle of the third round. May even see a Sebastian Janikowski move; 1st round kicker LOL
