For the love of god do NOT draft a kicker. This team does not need to go into a SB or bust type of season with a rookie kicker. There's always good veteran guys available due to other teams being punitive because of one or two missed kicks.

Why would we want to take a chance on some guy that another team dumped for the same reason you don't want a rookie?

There are some good kickers coming out.

Rook kickers are a coin flip imo, like all draft picks. Last years hot rook was York, nice name for SF btw, he was 75%. NFL kickers need 80+% or they risk getting cut.

A lot of our recent good kickers have been FA signings like Akers, Nedney, Gould, Dawson, etc.. vets that we land.
Lambo in FA is a better career percentage than Robbie just sitting waiting for a call
Okay go get an edge and resign Eman and call it a day

Until draft day. Then we load up on O linemen and depth.

I would like a safety and late rd WR in there too…but yeah this FA is giving them all the flexibility to do whatever.

After we were talking about Smith yesterday and after Davenport signed, I started looking at Hunters deal. It's not bad at all, however I think he wants a new deal and it looks like it doesn't make a ton of financial sense if they trade or cut him, but I wonder if a 3rd could get it done.

This. I would give this off-season an A+ if we found a way to grab Campbell and re-signed Eman.

Only real disappointment I have this off season is not keeping Mosley :/. Not the end of the world but I'd like to have kept him.

Me too, I thought he would've been easy to re-sign coming off that ACL injury. Maybe they're going with Tre Herndon instead and keeping Lenoir as the #2 CB.

To be fair, Lenoir came on really strong at the end of the season. He is developing well.

I'm assuming it was more of - we may of wanted him to play Nickel since J Ward left and he didn't want to? His contract wasn't crazy but 6M for one year might not work in our plans because we have some extensions to do.
We lost both Ward and Mosley - common JL get some secondary help!

Work your magic - please.

We still have the draft! And all our picks are where we usually hit! We have tons of capital or trade up or trade for quality players during the draft.

still a lot of moves to be made this off season, deep breath my man! Haha

As he is only signing a one year deal with Detroit I tend to believe that the team weren't really interested in bringing him back.

Maybe or maybe he just wanted a 1 year deal at the highest amount so he can "bet on himself" this season and get a bigger bag next year?
