Steve Wilks - Ji'Ayir Brown, Tashaun Gipson, Miles Hartsfield & Isaiah Oliver

Dude why tf are you here? All your posts are crying and b**tching and hating. I can't go to any thread without you on your period

Its hilarious. Lynch's first two picks clearly replacing lost FA's, getting younger and cheaper. Literally what the draft is all about for elite teams.

I actually DO like the Brown pick lol. Just not the other two. Funny thing is, I would actually like the Moody pick if it was in the 5th round, just concerned that the fate of our season could and probably will fall on a rookie kicker's shoulders at some point this year.

Why waste a money round pick on a kicker? Weird saying that considering how the draft works, but also somehow true. Lynch is starting to draft a lot like Bilicheck when they had the wide open window. Get who you want that can fit the program and get playing time. We still haven't even touched some of last years draft , guys like Gray. He may be this years Banks.

I mean our "hit rate" on 3rd rounders is so bad, hard up argue with taking someone who will actually play. Now, if this K sucks, then we have an issue.

Yup. Take a risk knowing you will most likely hit on at least one quality starter (possibly an all pro) in the later rounds.

What did the Niners give up to move to #87 so they could picl Brown?
I found it. They gave up their last 3rd rounder, a 5th rounder and a 7th. Either they really liked Brown or they thought someone ahead of them also wanted him.

Man you guys complain so much. At least wait a few years and judge how this draft turns out. Sheesh the draft isn't even over yet.

LOL. Have you seen our 3rd round history? There's good merit on this topic esp. the panic-drafting philosophy.

No one hits 100% even the great maddog would've drafted a bunch of busts over the years. How many of you had Warner kittle greenlaw etc becoming this great? Purdy?

Come on now they turned the team around from losers to multiple championship games and a superbowl appearance.

Our staff isin't trying to hit 100%. That's the thing. I've told people what the strategy is year after year (that's worked so far, btw),...yet some here will continue to complain day after day.

They are all about taking guys that they think can eventually be high grade players. That's it. They are perfectly content with taking 8 guys and have 4 high grade starters and 4 busts after several years.

This is their method and at this point I cant knock it.

But why do people here still pretend like they're trying to draft and get safe picks?

Lol no. Get 90 of the most talented bodies you can possibly acquire on the field all at one time once NFL Camp opens,...and let iron sharpen iron.

This is what they're into and safe picks are something they have very little interest in (save for the new kicker).
The 49ers are the worst good team in the NFL. Coaching alone saves them, if they had any ability to manage a team they would have won 2-3 super bowls in the last 5 years. Scary to think how many Super Bowls they would have by now if they would've drafted competently

Yes because drafting more all pros outside the 1st round then any other team in the league is a clear example they can't draft competently.

Schneider is a much better example of what you speak of.

AGree, and alot of the draft picks for this year went to CMC, so there's that. I think Kyle (or lynch) said something about not drafting a RB in the third. That drafted RB was none other than CMC, in a sense.

I think this group will work out also. Picking almost dead last in the draft doesn't help, but that's what winning and getting into the playoffs does for your draft opportunities.

One thing that you can't see in the highlight videos is durability. I'm hoping the players they have chosen all have first round durability talent. I hope to never see them pick - Kinlaw talent with bad knees - kinds of players ever again. If the safety, tight end, and kicker they picked today can play all 17+ games for the next 3 years, I think there is a good chance they can all develop into excellent players.

Durability is one hit away from changing on a dime

That doesn't explain guys like Frank Gore. I think there is a mental component to durability as well as the physical dimension. Hurd is a guy I like as an example of the mental part of a guy so afraid of getting hurt, that he gets hurt a lot. Joe, Steve, and Jerry were very durable players, and I think a part of that was their mentality and dedication to their bodies and their craft.

So Frank didn't have mental durability in college?
Patriots take a kicker in the 4th.
