Teams can have Hunter and Young, give the 9ers the best available CB for trade. I'm liking what I see with Gregory and hope he stays beyond this season.

The Russel Wilson trade debacle is behind them and they will get their own 1st round next year in the 2024 draft so it should be top 5. How much more do they want to rebuild from the draft ? I saw a $242M contract for Wilson. 😂

I've also heard the same thing. According to the owners, he is untouchable. They will rebuild around him.

I'd stick to minimum salaried guys, need that cap room for 2024 to keep the window open as much as possible.

You would extend him in the offseason to bring that down. But he gives you a nice trio of interior that you can add depth to with draft picks.

2024 cap room should be devoted to extensions. Outside of maybe another cb there isn't much to add.

What 2024 cap room, they have none, they need to carryover as much of their $40M that they can to 2024 to help with their 2024 cap situation, can't just trade for a bunch of high paid players, and expect them to be able to keep them all, plus BA, Hufanga, Dre, Mooney, Armstead, Banks, etc.....

AB, it isn't always about resigning/keeping all your own guys. Some of those dudes gonna walk and we're trying to win it all right now. If you can find a guy that will help this team even more today, then do it.

You only get so many chances to win a SB. This team is there right now. So let's worry about that.

Agree to a certain extent. Its so much easier to rebuild now because playoff teams can't keep depth players anymore. So you load up for a Superbowl run, and then suffer a single down year, clear the cap of dead money, and reload for another Superbowl run. Key is to keep drafting well *every* year. Thats easier said than done though.

P.S. I was hoping Chargers would go 1-4 or 0-5 so we have a shot at Rashaun Slater. Looks like that's not going to happen.

No way they would've traded him regardless when they have a qb making 200 plus mil

Why you extend him and bring the cap hit way down. If he isn't interested then you release him with no hit.

I know they need some of that to offset 2024 but not all 40 million. Paraag will do his cap magic like he always does. I don't see you entire list being extended unfortunately. Can't afford to keep everyone.

They're already way way over the 2024 cap, they need every bit of that $40M to get under the cap, no you can't keep everyone, but they can keep their core guys(Brock, CMC, Juice, BA, Deebo, Kittle, Trent, Banks, Bosa, AA, Hargrave, Fred, Dre, Mooney & Hufanga) long term, but when you add in a DJ Jones, you sacrifice someone, when we already have 2 IDL making high money, if the 49ers weren't going to pay DJ what he got when he was a UFA, what makes anyone think they will now?

DJ JONES??? don't we already have an average player in AA?

Ugh. He seems to be just average these past two years. If only every year could be a contract year for him.

Just average?

He was a top 15 ID last year and is on the same pace again this season.

I should have clarified I was commenting on AA who was out much of last year and just seemed to not be himself. The pat down of Dak instead of a safety in the playoffs last year was an example of how soft he seemed to play.

Those guys I mentioned aren't depth players, you keep a Dre, BA, Huf, Mooney, AA, & Banks long term, let guys like Burks, Jauan, Lenoir, etc... walk, and you draft well enough to replace them, we're not replacing these 6 guys I mentioned with draft picks, all starters, all can be kept long term, already went over how to do it, yet ppl refuse to believe me, or see that it's possible, that's fine, I'll just keep saying it over & over & over again we can keep our stars long term, Trent won't be around for much longer, we'll save a ton of money, plus these players I mentioned will be backloaded deals with low cap numbers in years 1 & 2, and maybe 3 like Bosa.
I don't see us making anymore splash trades unless its some good value we just cant pass up. I feel as though we have the best roster in the NFL from top to bottom. We can win it all with this roster. Now its just up to the players and coaches to execute.

To me we have entered the phase where you restock through the draft and maybe sign players in FA who want to win and not all about the huge contract. Of course i said this last year and what do they do, sign Hargrave to a massive deal.

If Lynch can make a trade for another solid CB, I think the roster would be set. Other than that, I don't see a Davante Adams trade or Danielle Hunter trade happening.

LOL.. no need to clarify @ MILT... AA suck.. he soft.. and he's been ALL WORLD to some of the fans here since he got drafted out of Oregon after registering just 2.5 sacks .. the guy is nice and has a huge heart personally... but the truth is,. he's just been AVERAGE at the very best ...

Agree.

Still getting an OLine guy is always appealing.

Trust me I would absolutely love to see them add another O-lineman to protect Brock. But you just don't see teams trading good O-lineman during the season. I'd take Garrett Bolles over Jaylon Johnson in a heartbeat. But Surtain Jr over everyone else!!!

Can't afford Bolles, $13.75M base, would be more than half that we'd have to take on, then he costs $14.75M in 2024 plus a $250K per game roster bonus, doubt we trade for him, McKivitz has done just fine, I would love Surtain, not sure they trade him. Jaylon Johnson would be fine, won't cost much money & picks wise, Bolles & Surtain would cost us a 1st at least IMO, I'd rather trade the 1 for Surtain than Bolles, if not, draft a Tackle in 2024 round 1.

I disagree with Dre and AA. You don't need to be paying elite cash for two off ball LBers. IMO I've always been a AA fan, I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze there anymore. Again we're gonna lose good players, every team does. This is about the short-term to win it all right now. Not everything is all about the long-term play. You gotta weigh the positives/negatives and I'll bet money every single person on this team would want SF to go all in today to get them a ring….they can go get paid elsewhere after that.

as far as replacing guys. That's exactly what SF did when drafting Dre/Huf/banks etc. none of them were high end picks.

I can see Armstead taking a team discount, since he's a 49er for life from everything I"ve heard/been told, he wants to be a 49er long term. Dre is worth the money, we could have said the same about Willis/Bowman in their day, don't pay two MLBs that kind of money, but we did, this team is still the same mindset, pay Off-Ball LBs high end money over paying a RT high end money or a LG, RG, or another high end position.
