Any word yet as to who the former personnel guy could be?

My guess is Mark Dominik as he knows everyone, Shanahan, Lynch....etc.

John Lynch is EXACTLY who you'd want turning a place around. Ultimate out-work-the-world type with zero politics to him and has different level of respect from players and coaches.

Good to hear some positive spin. Glazer is one of the more credible media guys.

I know people are freaking out around the league but I think John Lynch is incredibly bright & he'll surround himself with smart dudes.

This. A lot will depend on his staff, not just him in isolation.

I agree. I think his experience growing into a winner with Tampa is a plus. That should help in building a culture.
The big question mark is his aptitude in making good decisions. I trust he'll start by leaning on Shanahan and his personnel people. But, that's something he'll have to grow into if he wants to succeed.

Lynch probably has some incriminating photos of Kyle.

He's the first name that came to mind too. Would make a lot of sense. Actually not a bad front office structure, at least on paper.

People said the same thing about the Tomsula hire.

No they didn't. Unless you mean Baalke.
So there was pages of posters bashing jeff garcia wanting a chance with the 49ers as a HC but people are ok with lynch as the next GM. Makes sense

f**k it, being a 49er fan I have to expect these types of moves by Jed.

I guess I just have to hope he gets lucky with this hire.

You have to get lucky with all your hires, its a crapshoot really

U mean go to a team where the mangement knows what theyre actually doing?

Yes. Please go.
Can the mods make a note of the IP addresses of all the rats jumping ship?
I got diabetes after hearing about this. How can an owner be so naive and stupid at the same time?! I don't give a s**t if Lynch played for Bill Walsh, for Mike Shanahan if he's a natural leader. General manager must evaluate players (skills, metrics, habits, work ethic, etc) not to mention know how to bring potential partners for trades, lure good coaching and scouting personnel. I really hope Kyle Jr brings Mark Dominik and Daddy Shanahan as personnel consultants.
