Personally think his release is almost assured.

We are releasing him. He's cooked. The feet have been an issue in back to back seasons.

Purely about money.

Let's get real he didn't play down the stretch, back for playoffs, just cuz it's playoffs, and notice we got steamrolled. You think Kyle and John want to run that back? Heck no. Only if he takes a pay reduction to more adequately reflect his new role. He can't be relied upon for games or snaps, or stalwart production.

let's not go over the line, smokey
so if we are cutting for cap reasons, why do you say he won't be released, after all?

I think armstead is currently having his agent test his market before agreeing to a deal with us. I don't think armstead goes anywhere. He also won't want to be far away from Sacramento - born and raised there and does a ton of community work.
i personally hope we can come to an agreement with him. He's still a good player but not worth being one of the highest paid in the league.

Your 53131 post. Guy says we aren't releasing and you say it's assured. Maybe I am interpreting as you assured they aren't releasing and you are assured they are releasing. In which case, that's a misunderstanding

I was hoping the Niners would fill atleast half of their needs in free agency so they would have more flexibility in the draft but early signs say that wil probally not be the case. They only solved the rotational DE issue so far. Still need a guard, OT, DT, Corner, #2 TE, Linebacker, #3 safety. And quite frankly they still need a 3 down DE opposite Bosa. Oh and they need a punt returner also.
