I can see SF signing someone like Diggs as a vet S. He's a Nick Sorensen guy. Cheaper vet who knows the system.
They're probably gonna sign Feliciano on the cheap. He was very serviceable.
Go draft a IDL or two on day 2/3. Get younger there. They already have their elite pass rush guy there.
beef up the OL with good young talent. This draft is loaded and they should come out with no less than two or three guys imo.
get a NCB in the draft to compete with our current guys. Grab some WR depth.
Were able to keep the damn near our whole team and some rotational vets and get some young blood in here to develop.
Nice plan. Love it.
Same, but I wonder about elder Bosa's health. We have had such bad luck they consciously avoid injury flags now. What about Mack?

Really?
I don't see us paying him
If we digress, TW may not come back. My free agent wish on Hunt did not happen nor at that price is worth it. I was hoping we try to get Tomlinson back but that looks out of reach as well. Does someone have any Free Agents on the Oline we can get to improve the right guard. This is the year to really figure that out with Purdy's career here.
why is Tomlinson out of reach now? we could still get him or Feliciano - they're not bad options, both have proven to be good in this offense
then take an OT at 31, or better yet move up for one, and if the rookie OT beats out McKivitz, then McKivitz is another option for RG
then draft a C in Rd2-4
I don't think we're as bad at OL as it seems, there's also the possibility that McKivitz and/or Brendel improve in their second season as starters
I read what Tomlinson is looking for is out of budget for us. Can't remember where or I would post the link. You have a good strategy and agree about your draft levels. Hope that's what the front office thinks too.
It was a need past three years and nothing happening yet. Probably me not having patience and PTSD from the superbowl.

lol we're not getting Bosa. That's four DL we've picked up now. Anymore will be in the late rounds of the draft.

I mean everyone was all about Hunter, he's older and missed almost two full seasons with a serious next injury and a foot injury.
Rotating all those guys, keeps everyone fresh and healthy. Obviously it would come down to cash for Joey with coming here.

And we legit had like two starting DL heading into FA. They had to invest there, especially with AA gone.
IMO they still don't have enough on the edge. Bosa/Floyd and YGM isn't what this D is all about. Bosa is still in play if the money is right imo.
we can't count on Jackson to be anything and he's coming off a significant injury. Beal who f**king knows.

I like what they've done so far. Given what's available in FA, they used AA's money to get multiple pieces. LB pickup was really good. Let's the niners focus on OL, CB in draft. Curious to see how some of the "mostly" redshirt guys look for next year. They drafted some pieces who should be looking ready for the upcoming season last year.

Wonder if there is a trade to be had for a RG from another squad.

I'm on board with this, 100%. Starting with the first sentence, all of the above would be incredible.

Draft will be tough, the problem with losing the super bowl is you pick right before the team that won it. We are basically picking dead last but our needs on the o-line require almost a top ten pick. So Lynch will have to be almost perfect in the upcoming draft.
With that said Lynch has been almost perfect at times drafting in the mid to later rounds (see; Kittle/Purdy/Huf/Warner). But he has also been good at bringing in key fee agents (see; TW/Juice/C. Ward/Hargrave). Not to mention some pretty big trades (see; CMC/C. Young/Jimmy G).
Lynch has proven to be effective at using all the options at his disposal to bring in guys that can help us. We know we have missed on a ton of players (S. Thomas/T. Lance/Kinlaw) but I also like the fact that we quickly move on rather than trying to make it work when we do mis.
I don't like all the moves but we are where we are, and we have to let our front office do the shopping so that Kyle and his staff can do the cooking.

Lynch is cooking. He always identifies a weakness in the roster and addressed it. CB is a good spot for us after it being a clear weakness. Interior and edge depth was an issue and he addressed it. I'm betting Oline in the Draft. Also won't be surprised if we get a receiver early in case of aiyuk leaving

I think Lynch feels like he is addressing the CB position by beefing up the D-line.
