I also didnt expect us to make a huge splash but with Lynch you never know. I did however expect something with Purdy on his last super cheap year.

feel the same exact way

I normally don't care if we don't go out and make a splash... but we need to seriously take advantage of having a starting QB making less than a mil
feel like there should be way more urgency

not on paper, absolutely not

but I guess some of the younger guys/ rookies could step up
and maybe Sorenson is that much better than Wilkes
and maybe McKivitz, Burford and Brendel improve

but the only thing we've done is re-do the DL, and the DL is worse than it was last year... so yeah, we're not better (on paper)

DL isn't worse than last year. It is probably better

2023 vs. 2024 (so far)

Bosa, Hargrave, Givens, Jackson, Beal Jr., Davis are the same

2023:
Armstead, Young, Ferrell, Gregory, Kinlaw, Joseph-Day

2024:
Collins, Floyd, Elliott, Gross-Matos

I really like Leonard Floyd, but I'm taking the 2023 group with Armstead

Our DL was pretty underwhelming last year. If this DL will be then we are going to be in big trouble.

Armstead was average last year, especially against the run. He literally has 15 solo tackles, that's bad. This wasn't the same Armstead from 2021, and with his bad foot now ain't no way he was still worth the money.

Elliot is an upgrade over Kinlaw as well, stays healthy and is more consistent in the run game.

Collins is will ultimately determine anyways if our DL is better, if he plays well than it won't even be close.

Floyd is an upgrade over Young who was average AF last year.

Matos seems like a interesting pick up that can attack from multiple positions on the DL. Gregory / Day meh, both really didn't do that much.

Hoping they add another solid run stuffing DT in the draft as well with a later pick.

David Lombardi: "This is elite team building" *via FA after 2 days.

Are you David Lombardi? Or split personalities?

As to the bold, no doubt.

What's funny is we slipped from 5th to 26th in run defense. And it didn't have any impact on W/L's. But this is the area ShanaLynch are focused on right out of the gate as the team's big weakness.
^ just remember whenever this guy starts railing on this teams building philosophy, the reason this team is in such a great spot is because they had to rebuild the entire roster due to the absolute s**thole left behind by the previous GMs team building philosophy that NC was, and still is, in lockstep with

As always, we need to see how the new players fit into the system. That's something we won't know until about 4 games into the season.

Only ever agreed with Baalke on prioritizing OL Hoov.

If only this team would spend on mediocrity like Orlando Brown.

Seems like they're up to something with these last two restructures. Maybe Simmons or Sneed?

The way it sounded was that they had to get back under the cap

Why do people hypothesize this every time we restructure someone?

We need room for Floyd's contract, and we don't get the Armstead savings until June.

There are many reasons we could be saving money, including having an emergency fund during the season like last year. Dreaming is free but this doesn't mean we're going to do something headline-worthy.
I just completely hate this GM. Defensive line, defensive line, defensive line, Linebacker, Special Teams.

ZERO OFFENSIVE LINE. It's not like that's the reason you lost the Super Bowl or anything. I don't think you can win with Lynch. I'm done. We need a new GM.

Draft.
A broken linebacker . Injuries have devastated his abilities and a punt gunner? What are you doing lynch? How about another serious corner or try to improve the OL or maybe another receiver… no. We will continue to focus on s**t that compliments the team but does not win games. We need to score more and stop the run. What are you doing?
