People can't wrap their heads around that. He's not amazing, he's also not complete dogs**t or the worst starting RT in football. It was his first yr starting as well.

got people crying because we didn't draft christian jones late day 3 lol. You know where Colton got taken dude wasn't gonna sniff the field this yr. I'm all for draft and developing lineman, wish they would have grabbed a true OT at some point….but my god you want to "develop" them well what the hell have they've been doing with Colton? He's finally getting an opportunity. Why can't he get better?

So many little reasons for a lost SB. OL was just a part of it. The guys who actually know the players and more football than any of us…thought we had an issue with our WRs vs man coverage (which we did). They went out and got a couple guys that can separate. whether people want to believe it or not, That WILL help pass-pro.

I think Colton can get better. I know his ceiling is limited, but when they put in Feliciano for Burford, his play significantly improved. So the 2024 OLine draft picks kind of reflects that. Trent didn't retire, but I think he will once he has his super bowl ring. But the key is Trent Williams says he's still going to play in 2024. That gives the 49ers - possibly - another year to find that left tackle. Brendel is Athletic, but he tends to get pushed around, and I like the fact that they focused on adding talent to the center position too. There is only so much cap space, and Trent Williams is eating a big part of that space, and drafting #31 is never going to land you a Trent Williams 2.0 anyway.

Hopefully another year at the starting position will help McKivitz. In any case he's what we have for now unless the guy from USC can handle the job.

Yep more throwing it away when the right side collapses, like the Browns and Ravens. The Chiefs exploited the right side but was not the only reason we lost to 4eva's point. However if we are stronger on the right side we may have seen some of the open routes.

Feliciano wasn't an issue when he was in and they added a guard to push him so I don't see how that isn't upgraded from Burford.

He's two Pro Bowls away from having the most all time for a tackle. I expect him to play through 25 then call it quits.

I could see them trading for Trent's replacement. I mean they don't have a good track record of drafting and developing o line man. So just go trade for one like they did for TW. Draft of trade it's not going to be easy to find a TW 2.0. Just gotta hope we don't get Trent Brown 2.0. It's not just Brendal but the whole right side that gets tossed around.
I wonder if JL ever thinks to himself okay try losing a SB with all that, after another banger of an offseason

He's too busy being thankful about having a real qb now.

Keep in mind any serious injuries affect retirement decisions too.
