People can't wrap their heads around that. He's not amazing, he's also not complete dogs**t or the worst starting RT in football. It was his first yr starting as well.

got people crying because we didn't draft christian jones late day 3 lol. You know where Colton got taken dude wasn't gonna sniff the field this yr. I'm all for draft and developing lineman, wish they would have grabbed a true OT at some point….but my god you want to "develop" them well what the hell have they've been doing with Colton? He's finally getting an opportunity. Why can't he get better?

So many little reasons for a lost SB. OL was just a part of it. The guys who actually know the players and more football than any of us…thought we had an issue with our WRs vs man coverage (which we did). They went out and got a couple guys that can separate. whether people want to believe it or not, That WILL help pass-pro.

I think Colton can get better. I know his ceiling is limited, but when they put in Feliciano for Burford, his play significantly improved. So the 2024 OLine draft picks kind of reflects that. Trent didn't retire, but I think he will once he has his super bowl ring. But the key is Trent Williams says he's still going to play in 2024. That gives the 49ers - possibly - another year to find that left tackle. Brendel is Athletic, but he tends to get pushed around, and I like the fact that they focused on adding talent to the center position too. There is only so much cap space, and Trent Williams is eating a big part of that space, and drafting #31 is never going to land you a Trent Williams 2.0 anyway.

I could see them trading for Trent's replacement. I mean they don't have a good track record of drafting and developing o line man. So just go trade for one like they did for TW. Draft of trade it's not going to be easy to find a TW 2.0. Just gotta hope we don't get Trent Brown 2.0. It's not just Brendal but the whole right side that gets tossed around.

I think they do have a decent track record of developing OLinemen, Brunskill, Brendel, Compton, McKivitz, laken Tomlinson etc... One reason is the scheme that Kyle runs. The zone blocking makes it a bit easier to develop OLinemen from mid-level and low level talent. They just choose to put their resources on the DLine. Now left tackle, that's a position they probably will trade up for or spend a bunch of cap space on. But Trent didn't retire so they didn't really need to this year.

I still think they should have been more aggressive in getting a higher level athete at OT, But I'm OK with the OLinemen they got from the draft and free agency. Don't forget that this OLine made it to the Superbowl. I'm just worried that if Trent goes down, goodbye Superbowl.

Reminder that Lynch drafted Reuben Foster after he got kicked out of the combine for yelling at medical staff.

To be fair, the 49ers were lied to by Nick Saban when they asked if there were any issues with Foster, but it was a bad pick, but for a guy projected to go top 10, going that late was a steal at the time.

I'm not sure I buy the reports of the team being interested in Jamal Adams, the price tag for these veteran Safeties are likely way too high for every team or else these guys would be signed by now, Simmons likely won't take anywhere near the minimum, and after you factor in the draft picks cap numbers, the top 51, etc... The 49ers only have $3.926M in cap room, they'd be over $33.063M over if all of the players counted against the cap, including the UDFAs, who right now I have at just $795K, don't know there bonuses or guarantees yet.

If all the 9ers are trying to do is drive up the price for Seattle, why not just let him sign with Seattle. Adams is such an easy target, I'd absolutely welcome Adams to re-sign with them stop messing it up.

This was a historically deep and talented tackle draft. And the 49ers got zero tackles.
Only time will tell, but should have picked Kingsley, (or traded up for Rosengarten)

I'm mad about that too, honestly, best tackle class I've seen in a long time. But I also like the players we got and think it was a good draft, best in a couple years. Maybe Adam Peters was the problem?

That's what I'm hoping too.....make Seattle pay more. I DON'T want him on the 49ers......he is a huge liability in coverage.
Come on, Lynch, Don't ruin this off-season by signing Adams. You've done a good job so far.
