Still early, but based on performance, these guys are passing the eye test, this class looking pretty great so far.
It's the best class they have had in all the time they have been here. Some of them appear to be stars or borderline stars. They really needed it too after many bad drafts and throwing away picks to Lance. But this year could extend our window. It's a great class. One more even half as good at the right positions and we will be in great shape.
2019 draft class was pretty damn good. I believe the got voted best draft class or something by the league that yr
Agreed with both of you. 20-23 were pretty bad and that shows up in time. Also top thin because of the Lance deal as SamDiego stated. Obviously we found Purdy and a couple others, but weak overall.
This year's looks fantastic. In the end I get it- when you have good starters it's hard to supplant them, but when they are forced to play the rookies..... many show up well and better than most of us thought.
Id argue that 2020 was solid. Only had 5 picks so to come away either Jennings and Aiyuk is good. The Kinlaw pick prevents it from being good.
2021 looked to be pretty good, then the injuries happened. I'd still say it was solid. We got Banks, Lenoir, Hufanga, and Mitchell.
2022 and 2023 look to be the truly bad ones for the moment and it absolutely is showing up on the field now. A 2019 draft isn't normal. But if you can get one every few years and surround those drafts with 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021 drafts, you will have a great roster. Hopefully we can build on this in 2025.
