Way too many pessimistic people on here, man I gotta get off here more often, haven't been on in a week or 2, and it's done wonders for my mental health.

One thing I've learned over the decades is that not many people know much about football- people on TV, random folks on forums, people we talk football with, etc.
Gipson got released by the Jags. He served his six game suspension and could likely get reinstated by any team picking him up. I wouldn't mind him coming back to give some S help.

Even Johnny Boy knows this season is a wash.

Why? Obviously the suspension sucks, but he was real solid for us the last couple years, and we need his type of S play. No one's suggesting to sign him beyond the remainder of this season.

Hey I hear ya, I personally may not be an "expert" on the game, I miss things, I'm wrong on evals, and such, but the one thing I know is the salary cap, the business side, & team building, the right way to go about it, I would have loved someone who would be a huge pickup, but imagine getting Lattimore like WAS did, he'll cost $18M+ next 2 seasons(2025 & 2026), we do that and we're saying to Ward & DMo we don't value you guys, plus Lattimore is gonna want a new deal ASAP, he's at $19.4M APY, sure this year would have been peanuts, like $600K, but the picks we'd have to give NO would be crazy, and again it would take away a lot of 2025 cap room, plus picks,. & we lose DMo & Ward IMO if that happened.

AB81Rules: Agree. Niners manage the cap as well as anyone. Frankly they are one of the best. There is a lot of optionality in how they manage the situation, and I'm sure the Purdy deal will be fair.

Overall, this team is may one win worse than where they were last year. They tend to coalesce around week 10. Two of their losses were just mismanaged games. Also, the 2024 draft really seems to be a highly productive draft.

Agree, well stated.

I like the Gipson re-signing, especially with the two young guys still learning.
