Gipson got released by the Jags. He served his six game suspension and could likely get reinstated by any team picking him up. I wouldn't mind him coming back to give some S help.

Good call - Gipson is now back!

You think he is in football shape?

COACH Gip at this point

Gonna coach em up and drink the Gatorade.
Interesting many teams getting better. 9ers not so much.

Practice Squad signing makes sense. Allows them to evaluate his conditioning over the next few weeks without taking a roster spot. If he's to at least his 2023 form he could be elevated a couple times before using a roster spot.

How are they gonna look different? Their cap isn't an issue next year, they're not gonna lose everyone like every idiot pundit keeps saying, the ones who don't have a f**king clue about how the salary cap works, Brock is getting $60M a yr IMO, team friendly though, and he's earned a big pay raise.

Way too many pessimistic people on here, man I gotta get off here more often, haven't been on in a week or 2, and it's done wonders for my mental health.

One thing I've learned over the decades is that not many people know much about football- people on TV, random folks on forums, people we talk football with, etc.

AB81Rules: Agree. Niners manage the cap as well as anyone. Frankly they are one of the best. There is a lot of optionality in how they manage the situation, and I'm sure the Purdy deal will be fair.

Overall, this team is may one win worse than where they were last year. They tend to coalesce around week 10. Two of their losses were just mismanaged games. Also, the 2024 draft really seems to be a highly productive draft.

Thats the thing. If the team doesn't blow the Rams and Cardinals games, we are 6-2 and out in front in the NFC West race. Completely different outlook then. With guys coming back, we should be able to get 11 wins this season.
Should be on the hot seat after doing jack for trade deadline

Why TF do they keep waiving Jalen Graham and not Ronnie Bell. So f**kin annoying that Shanahan keeps Bell on the roster when he's clearly Trash!!!

Obviously they are seeing something in practice. Something we can't see because we aren't there. Graham has appeared in 6 games in 1 and1/2 seasons and has 2 tackles. What is he contributing? I know people still are down on bell for that game earlier in the year but they must think there is some ability or they wouldn't keep him.

This. Arguably even worse. At least Bell has some special teams ability.
I like the Gage PS signing. Maybe he takes bells roster spot in a few weeks

I would have liked Landry but they need to draft picks and money for Purdy. So in many ways his hands are tied.

Yes it does, because Bell f**ked up more than enough times already!!! Get that f**ker off the team.

Do you think our Stanford grad understands the dangers of growing too fast?

I think our F/O is aware of both the salary cap and successful business models when it comes to growth. Grabbing big named players out of the blue is not how this team was built. I think the salary cap is really going to come into play next year especially if we have to over pay Brock.

We have a lot of super star talent on this roster, if things don't work out I don't think we look at Lynch and the roster as the problem.

I have no problems with the way Lynch has handled his job. Has he missed on some draft picks? Of course. Every team does. On the flip side he's done a good job finding talent in later rounds. He's also done a good job with FA signings and trades. He got the best tackle in football for a 2nd rounder. He got the best offensive weapon 2 years ago from the Panthers.

correct.

Aging roster with ballooning contracts.

I am fine with it.

That said KC has figured something out that SF needs to model.
