Do you think our Stanford grad understands the dangers of growing too fast?

I think our F/O is aware of both the salary cap and successful business models when it comes to growth. Grabbing big named players out of the blue is not how this team was built. I think the salary cap is really going to come into play next year especially if we have to over pay Brock.

We have a lot of super star talent on this roster, if things don't work out I don't think we look at Lynch and the roster as the problem.

correct.

Aging roster with ballooning contracts.

I am fine with it.

That said KC has figured something out that SF needs to model.

There is nothing to figure out. They have a HOF QB, the best HC/offensive mind in all of football and one of the best DCs in all of football. Not to mention they have a very good FO. You can't just model that.

Who would have helped this year? There wasn't anyone that was traded that would have put this team over IMO. We didn't need to spend millions on a 9 game rental just to appease some fans. We got a good team in place, just need to play better. Period.

You can't tell me a combination of Azeez Ojulari and Davon Godchaux wouldn't have helped, if you did I'd have to call you biased. And the players that were traded, you can or can't say that Lynch was interested in them. Then again, no doubt Za'Darius Smith would've helped!!!

Yet neither of the first 2 were traded though, we have to wait & see what happens with Khalil Davis, remember Kocurek gets the best out of these guys, look at Okyuainonu and how well he's played, I never heard of him till last yr when we signed him late in playoffs to the PS, he has a bright future with us IMO. As for Za'Darius, we didn't have a fifth rounder his year to trade, sure we could have traded a 4th, maybe we tried but CLE(I think he was a Brown) said no, we won't know TBH who we may have gotten, or could have gotten, this team is talented, need to pray Dre comes back ASAP, same with Feliciano, maybe get Hargrave back in playoffs if he can go.

Like I said, he asked which players would have helped this year. I know that both players weren't traded, but my point was if Lynch wants a player he gets them. It was a time to get better and go all in before Purdy's contract. But I was expecting more from Lynch at the trade deadline, I love Greenlaw but I think it's too early to depend on him coming back and playing like his old self. Beal and Floyd aren't really getting it done, sure Yetur Gross-Matos is coming back but he's not looking like the answer opposite of Bosa either.

Oh well moving on past the trade deadline, I do expect to read and hear reports how the 49ers almost had this player or that player. Always the case.

You know what, cancel that I forgot about the signings of Tashaun Gipson and Russell Gage, two players who I think could really help if healthy. I rescind my comment that Lynch didn't do much at the trade deadline.

Khalil Davis
Russell Gage
Tashaun Gipson

look much better than just Khalil Davis.
How many times is Lynch going to say "we like the guys we have here" and "we feel good about how we've built this roster" this week? Dude is just a talking head.

It's the right thing to say to the media. He probably wants to say they know they won't be winning this year son they have to keep their picks to start building thenoster again.
Guy has his work cut out for him the rest of this year & this offseason
Well, if today's performance is any indication the 49ers are done this year. They've got two losses coming up against Green Bay and Buffalo and then I think things might spiral. Lynch is the GM and he has to wear all the big money decisions over the last few years. For starters, Deebo is getting 27m this year to do next to nothing each week. An embarassingly bad contract. Next, he gave 30m to Aiyuk who s**t the bed then got injured, it's doubtful he'll be anywhere near what he was when he returns. Who else? Hargrave is big time money not around due to injury but wasn't producing when we was on the field. It seems the 49ers have gone bad and I think it's time for a shake up.

The only reason they haven't been fired yet is Brock Purdy.

He also gave Bosa that huge contract and now he's not doing anything either.

Still loved that decision to trade a blue chip player in buckner cause he's too expensive. Then a couple of years later gave the same contract to hargrave. Lol
Still can't forgive him for trading away Buckner

They are simply the better franchise

Not to mention Hargrave was over 30 and never great versus the run. Then they didn't even use him correctly. He's not a 4 down player.
