Aside from Ward I can't recall any of Lynch's FA signings which have worked.

Alexander, Smith, Hargreave have all been injury prone busts.

The players who held out and Lynch paid like Deebo and Bosa (I won't include Aiyuk yet) have looked content and played below their contracts.

This year they gave in to Williams, CMC and BA. None of those guys are now playing.

At some point Lynch has to grow some balls and trade them.

Gross Matos? Feliciano? I don't get your point about Trent Williams, McCaffrey and Aiyuk. They are injured, Buddy. That's why they aren't playing. And, as you haven't realised, you can't trade injured players. But great idea though, get rid of three of our best players because they had the nerve to get injured .

has Feliciano played this season......?

who said trade them now? my comment was clearly about them pre season when they were holding out for more money. not sure how you missed that

You do realize that you don't build your team through Free Agency right? But rather the draft right? Lynch & Shanahan have a great track record of hitting on picks, yeah they've missed on a bunch, but more great to good than bad, Kittle, DMo, Huf in the 5th, Warner in the 3rd, DJ Jones in the 6th I believe, plus this yrs class looks promising, all of them IMO.

Also, most of the big name high priced FAs end up not being worth the money in the end, that's why you see the same teams going ALL IN with big FA deals every year, it's ruined teams salary caps, not worth it to dump contracts when you'd end up losing a s**t ton of cap room, people seriously forget what it was like pre 2017 when we had f**king Chip Kelly, Jim Tomsula, Baalke LMAO, the guy Jags fans want gone now, how has that worked for Jacksonville?

"By the way, I got players who called me after and said, 'Hey, we've heard you talk about this alter-ego John Lynch, this 47 Red character. Man, we saw it. That dude is crazy.' They all saw it firsthand."
I wonder if anyone has video of that conversation on the sidelines

The Niners are like a guy that's losing his hair. At first you try and cover the thin area. Then it becomes an obvious combover. People notice and start pointing and laughing. Eventually you're faced with 4 choices. 1) Continue with the silly combover. 2) Buy an expensive hairpiece. 3) Go the hair transplant route and gradually regrow your hair. 4) Shave it off and go with a new look.

The Niners are in that combover stage trying to hide all the thin areas. What will they do. An expensive hairpiece (free agent) might help for awhile but it comes with it's own problems. The hair transplant route (drafting and adding some less expensive free agents) is probably the way they will go but transplants don't always work. I doubt they go with a total new look but that may be inevitable. We'll see.

If replacing half the oline, few on defense, Foerster, ST coach and Sorensen (with Saleh or someone better) means plucking hair off balls and planting it on dome, then by all means, pluck and plant away!!
i think the niners are very fixable. lets go combover baby
I am confident they can have a good draft and FA . I am not sure on the coaching. I am more skeptical if changes aren't made.
Any chance in heck we can package our first, a player, and additional picks to move up and get Travis Hunter? Asking for John Lynch

My guess is the two offensive tackles will be long gone by our pick, but man if Jeanty is there .... we can always get a run stuffing DT in the second or third. lol

Free Agency is a lot like the draft. Hit or miss and most are misses. But yet if we don't sign a bunch of free agents the fans lose there mind.

Just look at the top 10 free agents of 2023 according to a nfl.com article i found and look how they turned out.

1. Hargrave - Did ok in SF but injuries have made the contract not worth it
2. Orlando Brown - Bust. pff ranks him 87th out of 133 tackles. Yikes
3. Deandre Hopkins - Meh. past his prime
4. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson - Hit. He's always been good but he's also head case so not every team will have him on their radar
5. James Bradberry - Bust. benched after a horrible 2023
6. Jesse Bates - Hit
7. Mike McGlinchey - meh. He was ok here but fans didnt like him bc he wasnt all pro so they complained everyday. Sure would be nice to have him now.
8. DreMont Jones - not that good. 5 sacks in 2023 and 3 so far this year.
9. Zach Allen - Meh
10. Odell Beckham - bust

I think they need to resist drafting a skill player in the first round and concentrate on beefing up the lines. That's assuming there's a good O or D lineman sitting there.
