Last draft pretty decent imo which gives him another year without Peters etc. If they bomb this offseason then we will be having different conversations this time next year.

You can't fire a GM that has drafted:

Brandon Aiyuk
Deebo Samuel
George Kittle
Fred Warner
Dre Greenlaw
Brock Purdy
Talanoa Hufanga

Not to mention all the respected trades he's made in the NFL along with free agent signings. John Lynch is well respected in the NFL, it would be dumb AF to fire or demote him.

Correct. Dont get me wrong, they have amazing hit, then some amazing misses as well. They had two horrible drafts in a row which has shown itself now, but last draft is very good overall.

I agree, they have f**ked themselves hard with the moves to get Trey Lance. But for one, you can't blame them for trying, and two they recovered pretty fast with finding another QB in Brock Purdy. One could argue that any Madden player could've done better, but Madden players don't sit there and interview, scout and research every player in the draft and NFL. GM's and head coaches will miss in the NFL, if it was that easy, every team would have a Lombardi Trophy at least once.

Yup. I don't mind it either. Regardless of the past, they need a great offseason.

I am more mad with the bad coaching. I want changes to his staff. We will have early start with no deep playoff run so he should be trying to upgrade defense and ST asap.

Bro you're preaching to the choir!!!

I WANT coaching changes too, Sorensen isn't inspiring and Schneider sucks!!! Change those two and the 49ers will be back in the race.

What some of our fans are failing to see is that this is a pretty easy rebuild next off season. why? Because the 49ers salary cap is the best in the NFL for 2025. Purdy's extension or cap hit shouldn't be all that crazy next year and the team will have the money to make moves.

Not worried at all!!!!
great quote from a good man i think it's the proper mindset:

"It's not somewhere where we want to be again, but we're here this year," Lynch said. "Can't believe we're here, but we are. And we have to accept that. We have to learn from it. We can't just chalk it up to there were a lot of injuries. Well, the team we're playing, Detroit, they had a lot of injuries, but they found a way.

"And so, we've got to look at the root. We have been looking at the root causes. We'll fix it.

Just take a look at your drafting history, clown.

Some reading comprehension FFS.

(I was calling Lynch a clown, in case you still haven't understood)

That was a great interview, I think he's taking a large part of the accountability. People have to realize, John isn't just a highly compensated talking head, as much as some want to believe that's the case and that Kyle handles everything. It simply isn't true.

Lynch is paid to get us the right personnel. He hasn't done the best job of that 3/4 years. It sounds to me like they realize we have a problem in the trenches, a problem with strength and conditioning, and issues with depth across the board.

I think he alludes to the above when he talks about Detroit. Our depth hasn't been able to step up, but also our starters have made a ton of mistakes in key moments putting us a play away in so many games where we probably would've been division champs by now.

Entire special teams unit, Purdy, Campbell, our entire OL minus Puni, Jayir Brown, our IDL, LB depth in general have had their share of issues. I think sometimes when things collapse so epically simultaneously, the coaching staff is gonna be overwhelmed. They can't fix everything all at once. Hopefully we get the right guys in here next year to get the ship righted.

I will pm you on this.
Not sure about this guy. Somewhat supported him in the past. But he misses too much in FA, draft, internal extensions. The team is kind of a mess with a lot of older players with miles. Who are injured and declining. We can't keep ignoring offensive line and defensive line on the interior too. We need to rebuild the lines. It's why the Lions are great. They build the lines. It's debatable how much he controls it and how much is Shany. Personally I think Shany has the final say on players and that's a problem. But either way we need to build the lines again.

Hopefully he's been in Jed's ear these past few years..

"Hey Jed, I just want to say I really don't know why Raheem Mostert, who was playing at an elite level in the playoffs is benched against Pat f'n Mahomes and the Chiefs for most of the first half. We'll see how Coleman does, but I don't agree with this decsion"

"Hey Jed, I just want to say I really don't know why Kyle is going to recieve in OT with the new rules in place. Every College coach before him has chose to kick for a reason. To have control of how the game ends. We'll see how Kyle's strategy of banking on a 3rd possession in OT works, although Andy Reid has already pointed out in the past that there will not be a 3rd possession if he were in that position. That he'd go for two with Pat f'n Mahomes, or go home trying. Eitherway I don't agree with this decision little buddy."

There have been so many situations and scenarios where Kyle has given John an opportunity just give a little nudge of a elbow to Jed with a
I'm in the give Shan/Lynch another year to correct things. Last years draft seems very good, but if you look at all their drafts they have only hit on 9 of 25 picks in rounds 1-3 and 12 of 38 in rounds 4-8. Not sure what the league average is but that seems like a low percentage of hits in rounds 1-3. Probably in rounds 4-8 their percentage is higher than league average.

Personally I trust Lynch more than Shany. But that's not a high bar.... Then it comes down to who has more control. Which is debatable. Personally I think it's Shany's team more so. But Lynch has his flaws. It's just inexcusable to ignore the offensive and defensive lines for this long. Over pay old, injured, declining players. Missing in FA and the draft all the time. I just don't think he's that good. But probably not as bad as Shany either. He does seem to recognize defensive back positions in the draft. We got better there. We went from a front 7 centric team to a back end centric team. We flipped to the opposite. Now if he can fix the front 7 and the offensive line.

The 49ers don't miss or hit any more than other teams. It's not like they're the Bears or some other horrible team that darfts high every year. Plusthey have a lot of high priced players which limits their ability somewhat in free agency. They've missed on some early picks and hit on some later or mid rounfd picks, The point is they've been competitive every year since Lynch and Kyle rebuilt this teamthat was in bad shape. The only years they missed the playoffs were when they had some key injuries like JG and Bosa in 2020 and of course this year when just about everyone has missed some games.

I don't know if they are completely terrible. But they need to hit more in the early rounds. Especially on offensive and defensive line. They can't keep reaching for WR either.
