Isn't Brendel's bonus on April 12th or something like that. If he gets the bonus, Brendel will be a 49er this season.

False.

Feliciano was slotted to be the starting RG. He got hurt and Puni won the job in pre-season.

Do people really think we will cut Brendel?

Great 49ers gift ideas

that first one (the only one I can watch) is mainly on Brendel,... Zakelj can have part of the blame but the main culprit there is Brendel,... he ends up giving his back to the play,... as he always does

That first one isn't on him

heres a couple more

RBs f**king up, not the OL.

Nah, he's not going anywhere. He's cheap (satisfies Paraag) and has the confidence of the coaching staff (satisfies Kyle/Lynch).

No. Brendel's contract guaranteed his 2024 salary on 4/1/2024. The remainder of his contract is not guaranteed. He's got a play time incentive and a pro-bowl incentive. OverTheCap claims 2.125M of McKivitz' compensation was guaranteed yesterday.

See I knew it was in April just forgot when. But yah, I doubt Brendel is going anywhere.

I'm not sure I can deal with another season of Brendel at center, but I'm kinda expecting It to happen at this point.
When the opposing dline tells JB to get on his back, he do it. When the NT tells him to get on all four or grab ankles, he gon do it

RBs f**king up, not the OL.

Never thought I'd see you trying to put lipstick on this Brendel pig lol.

That first clip was definitely on Brendel. Rich goes to extremes sometimes to prove his takes and while I respect his opinion he's not always right and that case is one of those.

Obviously we understand the situation. Brendel is the likely frontrunner for the starting C job until we add someone to really push him. My hope is that Kyle takes things on the OL seriously. Whether it's talent on the line or the schematic issues we keep running into where we have guys blocking air or double teaming someone who isn't really even rushing while we get free runners coming in on Brock...we have to get ahead of that stuff. Brock does a great job of making plays in those moments but can't expect him to be on it every time. It bit us in the ass in big moments in the SB and cost us a Lombardi.

Rams have a great DL now. Seattle D is improving. Detroit will likely be hitting DL heavy as well. Eagles will make sure they can plug in Josh Sweat's loss. Arizona will improve.

We can't keeping the OL can down the road and have to stay ahead of other teams and make sure they don't have a beat on our pass pro rules. KC was taking advantage of them and other teams took notice. The skill players also have to improve so if teams play man and Brock has to get the ball out quick that we have guys open. Getting CMC back will go a long way. Aiyuk coming back will also help but big unknown when and how with him.

I mean I get there's a lot of bad OL play in the league and it's not easy to find great starters but sitting back and not even trying is a slow death. We blink and our OL goes from ok to disaster. I can't believe that Kyle watches the film and doesn't think Brendel can't use an upgrade.

It's similar to the McGlinchey stuff. People were killing him because he had some really rough looking pass pro issues but overall he was a solid OT who was much better as a run blocker and had his moments in pass pro as well but there is a reason we didn't pay him. We clearly felt he wasn't worth franchise OT money and let him leave. I can't say McKivitz is an improvement on the Glinch but obviously you're getting more bang for the buck there.

I had hoped Zakelj was the guy we were grooming to be the future center but seems like that's not the plan anymore since he went in at G last year.
Only the middle clip isn't on Brendal. The last clip is on him and I'm assuming that's Juice who gets stonewalled in the backfield.

This. "Like putting perfume on a pig" - They Live

Yeah Genus, the lengths people go to defend poor play. You'd think it would be unanimous but some people don't want to be wrong or change their mind. Fact is, Brendel costs us games and will continue to cost us games, effect our offense in a negative way and if we make the playoffs or even SB (Yes we have the 3rd best odds in the NFC to go and the easiest schedule), it will cost us our 6th.

I cannot believe our Front office is ok with this, especially since Shanahan got Richburg and Mack prior to this bum

Yup, you've seen me over the years. The way they treat o line is the biggest mystery to me. Especially since the quality of o-line has dropped in the sport. They are far more valuable now imo.

This team could easily be in position to have to replace both starting tackles and the starting center this time next year.
