I like John Lynch and hope he succeeds. But every scout/personnel guy who has spent decades trying to climb GM ladder should be disturbed.

So the Jags hired Tom Coughlin, with no FO experience and give him ultimate control.
Jed hires Lynch with no coaching or FO experience, with shared control with a 1st time HC.
Honestly, I dont have a point, but this will be interesting.

What i find absolutely hilarious is that in the last 3 weeks nobody in the sports world said "hey, you know who would be a great hire, John Lynch". Nobody on nfl network, espn, knbr, numerous experts weighing, posters on this board and now he gets hired and people are saying "what a great hire"

Let's see--
Hire a top Offensive coach...check.
Add bright young talent to the FO...check.
Seems so far so good...

Well, Steve Young is a lawyer.
Which has what to do with being a GM?
Front office personnel have to know the CBA (legal document), understand contract law, and contracts. Many agents have a legal background. It doesnt qualify him to be GM, but there are several applicable skills, combined with his football experience.
